  1. Just out of curiosity, why would our region be removed from the abnormally dry category on the US Drought monitor? Over the last week we've had nearly no rain and really the last three weeks we've had nearly none. How could we fall out of abnormally dry, especially with fire weather conditions today? I mean we're nearly 8" below average for rain this year, and almost 3" below for the Fall.
  2. Dropped to 28 this morning, will be wild that it will rise nearly 40 degrees today, just due to dry conditions and not a front.
  3. Exactly. Currently, though it is very desert like right now.
  4. Been trending that direction lately. Too bad it’s still so early.
  5. Ron Smiley shows 40 and snow showers on Sunday. That was a big change from last night when 50 was forecast.
  6. Yeah, but I was just looking at today, lol. All this tells me is today really isn't that impressive.
  7. What I actually find more interesting is the swing in temperatures today already. At 1:00 am it was 53 degrees, by 4 am it got to 68, and is already back down to 57. Very quick spike, and decline.
  8. I guess it's kind of interesting, but this kind of warm doesn't really doesn't impress me when temperatures likely plummet later and you see lows probably in the 40s. Just weird timing things in this case.
  9. I came to see what obscure fact you'd find about the temperature this morning, lol. I say that all in good fun.
  10. I wonder if for some of those cities the cold can hit harder before it moderates. It has to swing around the Lakes to get to us, or go right over them and I imagine that moderates the cold a bit. In a place like Cincinnati there would be more flat open land to the west than we have. I don't know, it could be, might not. That's just what I've figured all these years.
  11. It does seem soft, but I guess mid 20s is pretty cold for this time of year.
  12. Today's 26 was 1 degree from the record low of 25 in 1905.
  13. Cool...we'll see. So, you expect to go at least 2 entire months without even .1" of snow?!?!?
  14. Funny thing about this is I had to sit and listen to older colleagues today talk about how it was always this cold and always had snow on Halloween when they were kids. This 100% proves that just wasn't true. Which I knew it wasn't. Also, they said we never used to have 80 degree Halloween's when I really wanted to say yeah we never did, as the record is 79, and from 1950 to boot, so I guess they did have some warm Halloween's in their time. It drives me nuts when people say the weather is totally different today than when they grew up, when really it is only marginally different if different at all.
  15. Holy Sh!t! That's random, lol. We know how this goes, but it's nice to see early in the season.
  16. KDKA beats the warm drum for winter, and only 31" of snow, not that they don’t always seem to stay on the warm and low snow side.
  17. Definitely not surprising in October, lol. Would be nice to see some flakes Wednesday morning though.
  18. Potential for flurries and maybe snow showers tomorrow night into Wednesday morning.
