  1. Nope. Watch the activity developing around southern pines. That could become severe out ahead of the main rain. I think we have two shots of severe potential, those storms developing then whatever develops along the front later on. With this wind energy it really won’t take much to get 50+ mph gusts from any elevated storms
  2. Today will be the highest severe potential thus far this season from the central Carolina’s eastward. Timing works out right and if we can get some breaks in cloud deck I think the severe coverage could be even greater. Definitely an afternoon to be prepared
  3. Storm SE of Brent, AL has a NASTY debris ball at the moment
  4. About a degree warmer than yesterday morning with a morning low of 30.9. Still cold!
  5. 29.8 this morning. Know our opportunities to get in the 20’s are becoming limited for the rest of spring, so it’s possible this was our last morning below 30 this season
  6. 34.2 this morning with very light frost on the roof. Freeze coming tonight
  7. Finished with 0.67” at home and 2.31” at the farm in louisburg. We were definitely on the low end of the rainfall spectrum for this event but what a month it’s been, 6.31” in the bucket for March
  8. My farm in Louisburg had a downpour this morning. 1.67” in about an hour
  9. Another good boomer this morning. Woke up to some really loud thunder and 0.47” in the bucket. Still raining, 0.53” since yesterday
  10. Can’t hate on this weather!!! Gorgeous couple days
  11. Looks like the storm mode will be linear instead of discrete cells but obviously the parameters are there for some significant tornadoes. Hopefully the numbers are down but I fear we will see a few long track violent storms today.
  12. Looks like a couple dangerous days in the Deep South tomorrow and Wednesday
  13. Like freaking clockwork we trend to a great blocking pattern and -NAO heading into April…. Some of the storms showing up on models are east coast crawlers. At least we should get plenty of rain before summer
  14. I don’t see any real sign of an extended spring torch. Kinda just mild (average) with some shots of rain thrown in. Great spring weather overall
  15. Loud boomers for over an hour this morning. A lot of the spring mulch I had put out earlier this week was washed into my driveway. Must’ve been a gully washer 3-4 am
  16. Right at 2” now and really coming down this morning. Going to be a fun drive to work
  17. Just over a half an inch here so far. Some places near southern pines have over 4” per RadarScope.
  18. I think a lot of it fell early in the season before the heart of winter there. They were incredibly dry most of the winter. My dad skied vail in January and they hadn’t had snow in 3 weeks but it never cracked 20 the week he was there
  19. When I took off in Miami yesterday it was 91. I landed in RDU to 35 degrees and woke up to 22 this morning. Almost a 70 degree change in 24 hours for me!
  20. Low of 22.4 this morning. Ground froze solid overnight. Looks like one more freeze tonight then a long time before we approach 32. I would assume the next frost/freeze after tonight’s will likely carry advisories with it
  21. Models at a minimum say were in for a wild weather day tomorrow. Severe then possibly a change to snow!
