  1. 1.4 " total, currently 51F breezy with misery mist, some leaves down.
  2. If you have an air compressor, it's easy to do yourself. I cut in a fitting on the copper line coming out of the house where I can connect my air compressor line. Takes me about 30 minutes with 10 cfm air compressor to cycle through all 7 zones. Close the valves in the basement, re-teflon tape the fittings and install, ready to go for the spring.
  3. When i had a pool it got closed weekend after labor day. It was a round above ground pool similar to above. This was in Hatfield, no trees within 500 feet, 8 to 10 hours of sun per day. Its just not worth sitting in a cold small pool. Only exception was i kept it open a week longer in 1997, was replacing my roof, and it was hot up there.

  10. CT River in Enfield is running above normal, average discharge is about 7,000 CFS, currently running close to 16,000 CFS. NOAA has the river rising to just below flood stage this weekend.

  12. It's cheaper to fix a mechanical problem with a used car than it is to buy a new one after you factor in the higher taxes and insurance that go with new.
  13. Heat is for young people. People over 40 should be keeping ALL their clothes on.
  14. Pretty sure it was the former governor who did the most to keep public sales from moving forward.
  15. I've dropped my phone in water before. If you don't power it off before the water gets in to the delicate electronics, the water shorts it all out.
  16. The TOR went by my office in downtown Springfield, it had people running for the basement. Awesome sight, never seen a TOR before or since.
