I love how two of our best globals diverge on the order of a foot of snowfall within 72 hours of the event in the year of our lord 2020.

Greenville, NC with a foot --- winner, winner, chicken dinner

As has been discussed ad nauseam, the high is in the historical exact place for NC snowstorms. It's becoming tiresome to hear mets parrot this falsehood.
Hr. 66 GFS: Eastern NC getting absolutely pummeled.

Some really poor analysis mixed in here. Folks, if you don't know what you're talking about, refrain from analyzing.

89 had record shattering cold, not quite same set up
The point being that cold transport can work. 1989 cold followed days after the snow began.

Both the 1973 and 1989 coastal N.C. snowstorms featured high pressure near South Dakota/Iowa. FYI.

No it’s not. Same spot.

Looks like Kinston to New Bern, NC is the place to be for this one.

Well the Euro is not suppressed

Anyone have analogs for these dates?

If you can’t make thermals work with a 1043 high banana’d all over the SE, might as well pack it up and call it a season.

LOL, Atlanta through Spartanburg S.C. and most of NC. get snow next week per GFS
ILM with almost a foot!

Both Euro and GFS seem to be targeting just north of ILM for Thursday. Actually good consistency in showing frozen there.

Only 2 weeks left!

OMG those snow maps. Are they ever close to reality? Ever?
They're accurate when they show us with no snow -- 100%.

That's not the whole storm for the eastern part of the state
