You were certainly close. If only you had said cat 2...
But keep your head up! Maybe you'll call the next one right.
It hasn’t made landfall as a cat 2

I told you all 2 days ago this would be a trash storm — nothing but a poor man’s cat 1.

Looks like the 50's are largely going bye bye after this week. Stable 60s+ from the weekend on. Love it.

Only got to 35 on Capitol Hill at my house. Don't see us freezing again (hopefully) this year.

Let me know when the 70s and sun reappears and stays... won't be for a while
It should be. April is fast approaching.

It’s official! Spring!

You’re honestly a sicko if you still want slop at this point.

I’ve been busy but yea after a warm up March 17 or so on looks cold again. Only issue I see is att the pattern looks northern stream dominant. In March with short wavelengths and added juice maybe that works but I sure would love to see some lower pressures to our south and the high pressure further north.
I live in DC. Where do you live? Buffalo? After March 15 we’re planning trips to the golf course and pool season isn’t far off.

This thing is DOA for the DC folks. Mid-day, nearly mid-March, sun angle at a preposterous level. No chance for flakes.

Sun sets past 6 PM starting March 6 here
DC sunsets are 6:04 starting tomorrow. Will be after 7 starting next weekend.

Anyone have analogs for the Mon/Tuesday deal? I saw a few days ago that March 1-3 1980 was showing up. Doesn't really look like that as depicted.

Euro weeklies look like crap
Wait, are people seriously looking at weeklies at this point? We're in the 9th inning.

Just got back from South Carolina. Early trees blooming everywhere down there. Clover starting to pop up. Bushes budding. Spring is encroaching.

Lol, 10 days is almost mid-March. Good luck!

Met Spring begins this week!

Absolute solar vaporizing occurring right now. Like a laser beam from the heavens. Shield your eyes!
-
Technically, meteorological winter is over March 1
-
Melt has commenced in DC. Streets just wet. Sun angle strong.
-
You can almost feel the power of the sun when the snow lightens up. Have seen reports of road melting when it tapers off.
-
Mid-week will be a good indicator of sun angle and how much drip drip we get at 32/33

The CAD is ALWAYS under modeled. Tack on an hour or two to whatever changeover time it shows.

As Per Tradition, Mid February is when our forum starts the annual Spring Tracking thread. Post all related posts to upcoming warmth and inevitable sun angle and longer days in this thread!
DC's current avg high is 47 degrees, and in just a week's time it will be breaking the 50 mark with the average low above freezing. UV index will be 4/10 in 10 days, and we are gaining a minute of daylight in the evening which will be 6pm by month's end.
We've almost made it according to climo. What does this year have in store?
I already created this thread. I think you even posted in it.

Sun angle is rising 2 degrees per day now. The vaporizers will be set to immediate-melt soon. We're equivalent of early October sun now.

I said days ago that if it made landfall at all, it would be cat 1 at best. So I’m not wrong.
