  1. Still a few remaining piles around town lol.
  2. Overnight low of 70. Lawns are starting to turn brown.
  3. 3rd day in a row we’ve reached 90 in Minneapolis.
  4. It’s quite strong in January. It’ll be -12F at the airport and -20s outside the urban core. In fact we would have probably broken our all time snowfall record if it weren’t for marginal temps during a few event. Our suburban WFO was around 12” higher on seasonal snowfall then the official measuring spot at the airport.
  5. June opens up with an overnight low of 72 in Minneapolis. Heat Island flexing.
  6. We’ve reached 90 for the second consecutive day in Minneapolis.
  7. Big difference to the west. Dews are in the 57-59 range across central Iowa.
  8. We’ve hit 90 for the first time this year in Minneapolis.
  9. 88/39 Warmest day of the year. Actually not horrible out with dews this low and a breeze.
  10. 79/30 with 17% Relative Humidity. Loving rare stretches like this when I get to live in the desert. As @A-L-E-Kwould say, “the normies” are talking drought around town.
  11. 81/32 at 4pm. I’ll take 80s when the air is this dry. Going to have to water the blueberry bushes and flowers, topsoil is bone dry.
  12. I’ve learned to avoid Hwy 61 on holiday weekends, hence why we were up there last weekend. Apparently there have only been 2 precipitation free Memorial Day weekends since 2000 in Minneapolis, this will be the 3rd.
  13. Great Plains ridging gonna mean endless upper 80s here.
  14. There was soaking rain over much of Alberta the last few days. I believe it tampered things down in the source region of the smoke.
  15. UHI kept us in the mid 50s but dews dropped into the 20s last night. Perfect summer weather, breezy and low/mid 70s yesterday and today.
  16. Native tallgrass prairie plantings are much more aesthetically pleasing then Kentucky Bluegrass imo. Not to mention lower maintenance.
  17. Drought talk starting up here as well. Third summer in a row.
  18. My car thermometer bounced between 50-52 from Tofte to Duluth. It was up to 79 by Moose Lake. I figured there could still be patches of snow in the higher terrain away from the lake but wasn’t expecting to see any snow/ice in the Temperance River gorge only a hundred feet above the lake.
  19. Camping along Lake Superior near Tofte Minnesota this weekend. The trees haven’t begun to leaf out yet and the grass has barely started growing. We got a treat last night when the northern lights paid us a visit. Now the little one is awake at 5am so daddy gets to watch the sunrise over the big lake they call Gitche Gumee.
  20. Much better air quality today. Still some smoke aloft but significantly better then the last few days. Heading up to the north shore of superior this afternoon for the weekend.
  21. Smoke has made it to the surface here in Minneapolis. Airport reporting 2mi visibility with smoke. Not smelling anything but I’ve been outside all day so I might be noseblind right now.
  22. Cold front blasting through now. Should mix the smoke down to the surface, I’ll give a smell report later on.
  23. We really are gonna snap back from near record wettest winter to severe drought again aren’t we.
