  1. Feels like we've done a lot of these busts lately. I am just glad I was never in the game down here in Delaware so there is no sting with this at all.
  2. Even on days with low humidity visibility is fairly poor due to lack of rain washing out the stagnant air. Need better Vis for my drone flying. Last night at 10pm it was 80 degrees and I was sweating bullets outisde. Hoping this misery ends soon.
  3. Today I ponder, will it ever rain again? Will this summer ever end? Close to 90 this weekend. Cmon enough already.
  4. It would seem the publi beach access and up to the wet area of the beach is public property. Obviously I can't walk onto someone's property to access that beach, but I certainly can access the beach in front of their house via another means, setup a chair, and they can't do a darn thing about it. Me and my friends use to go to Deal Beach and access from a public beach, and the Rich jerk who's house was there would always call the cops, cops would show up to tell the rich dude he was wrong. Good times.
  5. On public property. Peaceful. Not harming anyone. There are no broken laws there. The govt can't close public property and charge you with a crime. Its different if my presence could harm someone else (such as standing in the middle of an interstate). What they do is unconstitutional. I have argued with people who've told me to leave beaches. They always tell me the cops will come and "take me away". Its all hot air. No cops ever show and if they did, they cant do anything. I've broken no laws.
  6. It's a valid point; and I wouldn't want any responder putting their life in danger for someone who didn't heed a mandatory evacuation. Then again, a responder always goes into dangerous situations to rescue people who put themselves in harms way. Where is the line? At what point are you infringing on my rights as a citizen to peacefully assemble on public property? I've been told that a beach was "closed" for 50 mph winds from some tropical storm 100 miles off the coast. That is infringing upon my rights. Because if we are going to go down that road then chasing is illegal. Are we ready to prosecute chasers? Are we ready to arrest people for exercising their constitutional rights?
  7. Different set of circumstances. There are security risks with that. There are no security risks to standing on a public beach or other public property. LOL
  8. Yep, bill em. But also stop doing unconstitutional things like closing public areas during Hurricanes. You can't close a beach. You can't tell me I can't be on public land. I don't know how these chasers actually get away with what they do. When Sandy hit, NJ beaches were essentially closed. It was illegal to be there. Which is unconstitutional to the max. So in summary. I can be on whatever public land whenever I want, if EMS can't reach me, or bills me for services, or I die because of my stupidity; that is on me.
  9. I do reenactments at Fort Ticonderoga all the time. Plus tons of history and things to do at Lake George/Glens Falls/Albany. I'd live there in a heartbeat. It is probably my retirement location. back home, 50 degrees, bare mud ground, blah. You're being far too generous. A foot on the ground. Huge snow piles, and a 4 inch snowstorm on top is more like a 1 in 20 year thing here.
  10. Yeah, woke up to this. First thought, why can't I live here?
  11. I am up in Warrensburg NY. Got about 4 inches last night on top of the foot they already have. A place where a real winter happens. I can't wait to move out of the MA. Raining down there?
  12. Just a little warm push of air that no one saw I guess. Areas to the north that were just as marginal as Baltimore/Philly are staying all snow (monmouth county area). NWS is pretty confused right now. Winter storm warning here for 3-6 inches. Its a rain/sleet mix with less than half an inch.
  13. Its not. This warm layer has pushed way north in a hurry. It is quite impressive. I wonder if SE PA amd NYC are in for a shocker?
  14. Plus areas that are forecast to get 0 inches now are still under winter storm warnings.
  15. I am just having some fun. Don't need to take it personally. People gave me heck for calling for 1-2 slushy inches for I-95. Well its what we got. Turns out, I was still to high with that prediction. Again, people get too sucked into the snowfall maps in these marginal situations. We need to learn and stop repeating this stuff.
  16. Ahem @psuhoffman We ended with about a half an inch on grassy surfaces. Like I said would happen. NWS called for a ridiculous 7 inches. I think you should take this post back, and give kudos, where kudos is due. Thanks!
  17. Could it just be lower rates that is turning it over? Looks to be a gap in precip out in the Stevens City area.
  18. Mount Holly did too. Even their lower totals are far too high IMO.
  19. The very very first sign of pavement caving.
  20. Moderate snow. Dusting on the grass which caved after only an hour. Kind of surprised.
  21. When Winchester VA can't get it done, its not going to happen.
  22. Saw this coming from a mile away. Its a mini version of snowquester. Along I-95?/ Is it March?/marginal temps?/daylight?/= Take snowfall maps, reduce accumulation to 0.
  23. Mt Holly has 7 inches for me. I can't wait to take a contrasting photo tomorrow morning showing my "accumulations"
  24. Maybe I am being pessimistic, but I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment. The margin of error is razor thin. White rain in the mix. Bad ratios. We've done this old song and dance before with snowquester. Those accumulation maps won't verify. I'd honestly be stunned if this is anything for than 1-2 slushy inches on the grass from Baltimore to Philly.
