    Rainfall rates picking up again here, looked like we were going to get a bit of a break, but moderate turning heavier now.

    Awful. Very grateful for this forum. I’m not on social media, though I know there were some people issuing warnings there. Fact is the mainstream was not forceful enough on this in my opinion, plenty of people may have opted not to drive if alarm bells had been sounded.

    Thank you for the heads up. I appreciate that! I had just taken a walk down to the corner and see ponding beginning in earnest in some of the usual spots. Does not bode well. It also got a lot windier.

    Very quickly. Over 1.6 already, showing rainfall rates a little over 1 in./hr.

    1.32 now in Carteret, much heavier rain falling and some pooling starting.

    .97 this morning in Carteret at the moment with a steady rain.

    Oh yes, Ida was crazy! No doubt the OEM is keeping a close eye on this event as well.

    As you know we flood here in Carteret with a lot less. We had damage and issues from Sandy of course, but Irene was far worse for us with regard to the flooding. And the ground around here is quite saturated already!

    And stretched out is just fine by me! Because deluge= flooding and we get enough of that.

    Over an inch of rain now here in Carteret.

    Yes, we’ve got about .73 so far, along with some lightning and distant rumblings.

    Absolutely. We’ve had some spurts of heat and humidity, but nothing like we’ve had in summers past and certainly not like the poor people suffering under the broiler heat domes!

    Hearing the sirens all over so I’m not surprised. Carteret Avenue pretty flooded in spots.

    Flooded streets here, people having to move their cars onto the sidewalk. Or lawn.

    Looks like we passed an inch already. Crazy.

    Certainly is! Went from so bright and sunny to dark and stormy relatively quickly. The kind of rain that when it started I said, “what is that sound?”
