Do you have exact numbers? It’s been raining to beat the band outside so I’d be very hard pressed to see less than .3 or .4 wasted. That’s a lot. And yes, being a quick hitter is equally important.

Also meant to frame this in the context of WPC forecasting the changeover to take place rapidly, between 1:00-2:00 AM. We’ve already seen hours of moderate/heavy rain here. Climo wins every time if you’re looking at the right context.

Some said it last night but that’s why I called for 4-8”. Tons of QPF being wasted. No way we get those insane modeled amounts. It’s not even snowing at 35. just hoping for something after a string of non snow winters. edit: in Chevy Chase in case my mobile doesn’t say.

Seems like a total roast job right around 850 reported around 7PM. But what you said would still stand right? Could formation be shallow enough to 'bypass' that layer? Sounds kind of outlandish since it would be like, fog drizzle, but I'm not really familiar and might be reading this all wrong.

Took my dogs out to pee before bed. They slipped everywhere. It was kind of cute but also scary because of the porch steps. There icing is worse than the ice storm the other day. This warrants a WSW far more than the sleet from this morning. It's outright treacherous. 28 in Chevy Chase, and it feels very cold with the mist.

Just took the pups out for a very long walk. Still some slush, especially in the deeper puddles, but shallower pools are freezing fast. If I hadn't been wearing my hiking boots which have good grip it would've been a back breaker. One guy was shoveling his sidewalk, and I don't think he realized he was only making it worse; there was already a significant layer of ice forming in place of the sleet.

Very true. My biggest flaw is not being able to tolerate hypocritical behavior and people who only try to protect their own interests. And to @mappy 's credit, I do take it too seriously (which is quite the opposite of taking myself too seriously).

Politely, mentioning that you were letting your hope for us getting snow influence your decision, which I would hardly call a bitter criticism. What did I do after that? I suggested that I don't care who's right. What did you do? Double down that I was posting everywhere gloating. Again, show me where I've been 'gloating' and I'll be happy to reflect further. On the contrary, I was pointing out that people within the culture of exclusivity treat others differently. What are you talking about? I'm responding to posts. Plain and simple. I don't see you stepping into the darkness when someone debates with you. The double standard is incredible. And you betray your own ego by thinking I'm taking a 'victory lap'. If you're a true forecaster, being right shouldn't be the goal. It should be finding out the truth. And people are still coming after me for stating facts. It's plain childish. Look at the posts last night. I was on an island, and I happened to be on to something. Now I'm taking heat. It's happened several times in the short time I've been back in this sub, and quite frankly, I'm not going to just take crap if it continues. So many other models showed similar QPF. I don't know what else to say. This just doesn't make any sense to me. It's one data point that many others corroborated. Not to mention that the QPF verified maybe a bit shy in other areas. We got the typical DC hole.
