  1. Yep. Kids rode some awesome surf at the beach, wifey cut/bouquet'd/harvested/canned. Mini splits kept the coc rockin'. Even gave the snow stake a little string trim. About to crush an outdoor shower. And a J. Telescoping alligator clip ftw. Getting it all in, now, as we continue to step down. 65/63
  2. Brutal. Pretty rare I get bailed out on the coast and you get split. Stratus looks around 0.60", which is more than I've had since 8/1. I'll take it. Shit, I would've taken the 0.32 or whatever Lava meh'd!
  3. Stein'd here with remarkable precision.
  4. Ha, still terrible. Other than vegetation though, been an incredible stretch. Tourists gone now too. Best time of year.
  5. 0.06" overnight. 0 42" since Aug 1 6.57" since Jun 1
  6. 0.36" for August. That was all fun and games but I don't want a repeat.
  7. Sad. It's not the same, but I've seen Sebago turn from light 1' chop to 5'+ white caps in a matter of minutes. I imagine it's the same for other significant bodies of water in NNE. Even if you're responsible, prepared and constantly monitoring conditions, the rapid change can catch you totally off guard.
  8. Overreacting to short-term problems has always been effective and not at all counterproductive over the course of modern civilization. Yep.
  9. 0.09 in the status today for 0.15" MTD. Kinda hoping for a whiff Friday.
  10. We did this last winter and I was happy with how it came out. We had the perfect winter for it. Way easier than Fall seeding and watering. Just make sure the seed is away from the chicks, because they'll eat it all.
  11. Making a run at futility here with only 0.06" for August. Doesn't look like much more, if any, the rest of the month.
  12. Think it's lovely out but it can't be good for pool temps. Not sure I'd be rooting it on if I had one. Floated up the Spurwink river (Higgins Beach) on the incoming tide Saturday. The water at the mouth (beach) had to be 72°F, and potentially as high as 74+°F in the shallower parts upstream. That is boiling by our standards. Anyway, RIP to those temps. 72/43 full sun.
  13. That is what scares the shit out of me. Sucks, man.
  14. Yes. Ripped real good for a few earlier. Knocked my neighbors closed umbrella stand - one of the ones with a 100lbs of sand in the base - taking out a gutter.
  15. Doubled up July and will be up 4mWh on the year before the end of August, which will cover the entire heating season.
  16. Solar and mini-splits are the way to go, if you can. $14K back in rebates helps. Haven't paid CMP since installing in December and won't ever again. ROI in 5 years at this rate.
  17. Yup. Just call mosquito squad and soak everything in poison. Sad!
  18. It's the canned response from the ball- washers, lacking any original thought or nuance: short-term pain for long-term gain. Hurr. Durr.
  19. Solar and mini-splits will be the best investment we'll ever make. I'm about to go up 3 MWh on Production vs. Consumption, will probably hit 4 before we start heating season- no way I ever run a deficit. Never paying an electric or fuel bill again. Or install window units.
  20. Parasitic Wasps are the best. They don't make nests, through. Nuking ticks with pesticides just makes them more resistant in the long-term. If you want less ticks in your yard, deter the hosts from being there.
  21. "Busiest day since the 4th" - Parking booth guy at Scarborough Beach @ 2PM, still with a line of cars waiting to get in. Triple B day with babes, beers, and buns . Just what people want in summer. Everyone high-fiving over how perfect everything was. YLTSI.
