  1. I believe it - just got home after being gone for 120 hours and the brown-out of the lawn is quite noticeable in my sunnier spots. It's dry and crispy out there.
  2. The weather has been stupendously nice on the lower Jersey shore the past few days. Unfortunately, headed home tomorrow.
  3. The heat in the UHI is legit. You will not find it to be cool on most july-august mornings, special once the sun is up. 10 degrees warmer than the hinterland counties by 8am easily
  4. Enjoy the green now. Never gonna rain again
  5. Goodness the humidity is oppressive.
  6. Indeed. Here are daily production numbers for each month. May 4 - 18 was a terrible stretch; basically only one sunny day.
  7. Ended up barely squeaking by April production thanks to a couple sunny days at the end of the month. First year, so no comparisons. But 919 in April versus 970 in May.
  8. Good write-up on AI/weather: https://arstechnica.com/ai/2024/06/as-a-potentially-historic-hurricane-season-looms-can-ai-forecast-models-help/
  9. Looks like you're right for those of us around the top quadrant of the beltway
  10. Impressive lightning and debris clouds before a 10 min downpour in Silver Spring just inside the beltway.
  11. We must have similar size systems. I hit 919 in April; 502 thus far in May.
  12. Yes, my May production has been awful! It may come in below March :-(
  13. i appreciate sunny days in january and february, but I would gladly trade those for some sun now.
  14. Ugh. We have similar deal Saturday - community event that has been planned since the fall. Need it to be dry
  15. Some actual light rain inside the beltway in silver spring now, after a misty morning.
  16. I remember unbelievable amounts of rain falling that summer. Downpours like we were in Malaysia or something. The humidity today is nuts
  17. Enjoy the sun this morning -- looks like a cloudy stretch of days ahead.
  18. Did anyone start a drought thread yet
  19. Yep. Nighttime lows in the 60s-70s-(80s?) for the next 6 months.
  20. Sort of fun, here's solar production for the day at my house. Hello eclipse.
  21. Was very cool to see a ton of people out in the local park by my house, just watching. We had good timing with the cloud deck here as it approached maximum. Everything muted, gray, and cool, but still quite bright. A sort of eerie light when you look at the woods or the sky away from the sun and see blue... but it's just not the right shade. Awesome!
  22. Scattered clouds over the immediate DC metro... go away!
