  1. Eager to see GEFS low positions. This one on the op ticks close in to NYC.
  2. Wow radar filling in great. Very light snow in Silver Spring, just went on a pre sunset jebwalk. Probably 6.5" on grass. Deep in spots! Great storm.
  3. 84 hour NAM so this is likely pointless but the southern energy was held back more compared to the GFS.
  4. I posted earlier, but my kid's district (Montgomery County MD) already closed. IDK about baltimore metro area.
  5. Yep. Go enjoy it while you can! That would suck and is unlikely...but never say never around here.
  6. Nice. I'm only ~ 5 miles north of you and we've had flakes here and there in the last 3 hours.
  7. Montgomery County MD Public Schools closed for tomorrow.
  8. Yeah, I'm up to moderate snow. Looks beautiful again. I hope I have to shovel for the third time. 8am, 12pm, 4pm.
  9. Nice, a little southern arm of that band is about to go over me... Yep, right on schedule, some light snow resumed. Moderate size flakes
  10. UKIE attempting something CMC-like, not sure if it will turn the corner at all. Some snow for southern VA
  11. Agreed. I moved to immediate DC metro in 2010 (post big storm winter). From 2010-2018, your area smoked our area every year. Since 2019, we've done better in a few storms. Just random chance @Maestrobjwa
  12. The best long-range model tracking days are when it's snowing! #traintracks #snowtown
  13. So if we average the GFS and CMC, we get nuked. Right?
  14. Stronger HP/good CAD (snowpack??!) and we will get smoked by this. But we play the track gamble game along 95.
  15. I am trying to be less bad at this but the western ridge looks better so far. I'm hopeful. But mostly have no idea what I'm doing other than many hours spent looking at 500mb plots.
  16. Pretty good rule to take your best-case scenario as like 2/3rds of what HRRR, RAP and NAM show.
  17. Love seeing streets in our urban area covered. Rare and awesome. Great storm even if we don't hit 12"
  18. Sick! Sharp gradients with this storm. I'm only about 20 miles, basically due west, of you. And we're at 6" max right now, though in a heavy band.
  19. This band is sick. I'm the little red x
  20. Yep, re-coating my driveway which I just finished shoveling.
  21. yep. getting monster flakes here too.
  22. I'm in the zip code 20910 just south of the 495 beltway and north of the DC northern apex, in Silver Spring. Just measured about 4.75" averaged across a few spots in the yard and on a snowboard surface. I was out shoveling from 8am til now. Went from SN+, to SN- with a bit of ice and frozen pellet drizzle (?) to back to moderate snow with bigger flakes in the last 15 minutes. Hope I can pull 6" out of the first part then another 1-2" later.
