It's going to kind of suck, but we know that these temps will followed pretty closely by more of what we're seeing today.
I love summer and hot temps, but once the kids are back in school and the pool closes, I'm ready for 70/50.
Let's hope this is wrong! I agree, I'm ready for 70s

Headed to Charles Town this weekend. Is there any water there? We are supposed to go flat water tubing on the Shenandoah.

Euro and gfs are showing some pretty bad levels of rain for the socal environment re:flooding

UMD closed campus at 3pm, which means I get out of an in-person meeting at 400pm. Thanks nature, please don't shut off my power now.

What's ETA for this baby on the 95 corridor?

Was kind of pleasant with the breeze while it was still overcast on my morning walk. That burned off around 830 and the streets got hot fast.

Guess what four letter word that starts with an 'H' (or 5 letter word that starts w/ an 'S') is coming back to play with us from late today through the next few days? Were you all starting to miss it?

A whopping 0.01 at my closest station. -
Beautiful day, but getting crispy here in metropolitan Silver Spring. Rain yesterday basically got the grass wet.
Does anyone have a replacement link for this mesonet site? I used to go here to check local precip totals. https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/gmap.php?zoom=11&extents=38.873459,-77.525547,39.299833,-76.989963&density=1&precip=1&value=P24I

It’s so true. I was honestly shocked when I looked this up the other day.
Lots of reasons for this, but one big one is that the aggregate vehicle fleet is MUCH cleaner than it was in the 1980s, and much cleaner than it was in 2000s. All of the hybrids and EVs, and tougher fuel efficiency standards, have really helped. So has the switch away from coal toward burning natural gas for power.

I’ve seen a lot of people with masks, which makes sense. Driving into work felt like I was in 1970s LA.
Yep, put on a KN95 for the first time in a while this AM for the walk to school with my kid. He has reactive airway disease and was really feeling it, so he also wore one.
They aren't perfect but they stop some of it. Better than nothing.
