    I read on another group the UKIE says severe wx for TN lol. That’s polar opposite of what it was saying.

    Yes this will be the 3rd straight winter of very cold temps. The past 2 occurred at Christmas in 2022, first week of January 2023. Landscaping such as hollies took a beating during the 2022. Mostly because it was a flash freeze that killed them & a lot of other bushes & trees. Some are just now recovering. Then last winter it killed more. This cold spell is shaping up to be worse than last winters. Possibly worse than the 2022 winter. This time the duration appears to be much longer. Also expect potholes to start appearing again. Then no doubt water main breaks will occur I’m sure. Many of the cities water lines is outdated. Will there be rolling blackouts? That’s very possible. If TX gets cold I’d hate to live there.

    If I remember correctly. The old Euro had that bias of holding back energy also.

    Even if we get small amounts at a time. It’s going to be around for awhile with the temps that are coming. We know cold is coming. We know clippers will also be sliding thru. Fun times ahead!

    I just hope if this is confirmed in next few days what models are showing. That people take it seriously & start preparing. These types of temps are not anything to play with. Plumbing needs to be insulated. Cars prepared for dangerous travel. Rolling blackouts very possible. All those living in tents need to make sure they have sufficient shelter. I love winter but this could be one brutal stretch to witness in our lifetimes. Do I think it will happen. Cold air is coming that’s a good bet. How cold. That’s the question. Anything is possible & we have seen a lot of crazy things with the wx lately.

    Crazy to think what many of us have already experienced in our lifetimes. Why not add to it lol. Cold is almost guaranteed at this point. Just how cold & how long is the question. Hopefully people that are living in tents will get the help they need. Now is the time to start preparing for the possibility of dangerous cold & possible winter weather.

    Well if this happens this would be 3 winters in a row. Landscaping is going to take a hit again if we don’t have any snow on the ground to help protect.

    It would not surprise me to see crazy cold. The last 2 winters we have had crazy cold for a week. Though that was really the only cold both winters. It was cold enough to kill alot of vegetation & landscaping. Many of the shrubs are still trying to come back on my neighbors house. I removed mine. I even lost new shrubs last winter & had to replace. I’d prefer not to have to do it again. Though I did go with landscaping that supposed to survive down to -10/15.

    Woke to very heavy rain for a few hours this morning. Also had a little thunder and lightning. My grass seed is absolutely beautiful. All the dead spots are now back to the way they were. A beautiful green lawn. I will definitely be mowing well into December this year.

    We need rain but not all at once. Mudslides could be an issue going into a very wet pattern.

    More floods across the globe. Catastrophic flooding in Spain with many dead & many missing. Also New Mexico recorded its first ever November tornado yesterday. OK took significant damage last night from tornadoes.

    Looks like the tropics are not done. Hoping the gulf coast is spared this time.

    Crazy looking at next 2 weeks. 60/70’s highs with 40/50’s lows. No sign on colder air. These temps are great I do love them but in the past it was different. The climate is changing no doubt. Floods are happening all across the globe. I know the wx goes in cycles but this one seems different. My grass seed is coming up beautifully. This is definitely the perfect wx for it to grow. Looks like my mowing season is going well into late Nov. At this rate I will be mowing at Christmas. Wonder if Santa comes on a mower instead of a sleigh this year.

    Interesting snippet I found out today. For first time in over 130 years Mt. Fuji does not have any snow at the top at Halloween.

    Sigh another major hurricane appears likely directly into Tampa area.

    So many stories flying around. Hard to know what is truth & what is not. This port workers strike could really hurt the relief efforts. Hopefully they get it worked out.
