Hastings flipped. Nice way to wrap up February. Although I always snow to rain events. I almost rather it be all rain -

I never had a winter weather advisory for 5 to 9 inches before. Guess they know something we don’t -
Turns out Texas has a Long Island-inspired power grid.

soon. very soon! I brought it up in January when people said winter was over -
For the record I am in Bethel Maine at Sunday River. At 7 AM it is sleeting. We never even had a shot with this one in New York
-
Correct. Someone said this will be a historic ice storm last week. I responded that type of event for our area is almost impossible to predict 5 days out.
-
Yeah we cant get worked up over a mild march.
-
You're the same people that complain when we don’t have snow. We haven’t had any appreciable snow on the ground in two years. It has been on the ground for a whopping 2 weeks and you want it gone. In a week or two it will be gone for 10 months (sans a wet March snow) and you can enjoy the record dewpoints that the cement jungle provides us these days. For the record, there is never anywhere to park in Brooklyn...that is why people who want a car lifestyle eventually leave Brooklyn

I would say 1.5 inches on the driveway in Hastings on Hudson This is a tough measurement because it’s light and powdery on top of everything that’s already covered in snow. -
Another beauty was the Valentine’s Day storm in the mid 2000s. That was sleet for hours. The reason you and I remember these storms in the five boroughs is they are very unusual (as you said)
-
Bad ice storms arent predictable this far out. Too many factors have to line up Just eye candy for now

It was very bad even in Queens. 94 was the best winter ever...That ice storm was a big part of it
