  1. Must adjust for the fact that el chichen might have made that winter colder than it would've otherwise been and the fact that 82-83 was a super el nino and la ninas preceded by el ninos are different, let alone one preceded by a super el nino.
  2. Ray, do you think it will be as cold as that winter was? Aside from February wasnt that a really cold winter?
  3. thats another good one although 2018 had the long duration snowstorm like 1956 did. There was no match for the April 2 snowstorm though, got 6 inches in that one and the Yankees home opener was snowed out. I like getting one of those per decade lol
  4. Glad I'm not the only one. Luckily for me I usually only see one a year. Last night was particularly horrible, after seeing the centipede earlier, I saw that mouse later on in the night. Lesson learned, all lights are staying ON!
  5. This is awesome weather, so much sun during the day and lots of stars to see at night.
  6. uhm what kind of moron are you? most consumers refuse to eat factory farmed crap....get the **** out of here with that-- and it's created pressure for most manufacturers to move away from that. You have NO idea the kind of chemicals they put in that crap, do you? Now go back to your hole in the ground mister 16 posts (or is that 16 IQ) you dont know shit about this topic. Another moron from Michigan.
  7. He never should have gotten that job in the first place-- lots of conflicts of interest there.
  8. Wilsack is an effing racist and takes large bribes from industry, so it's not surprising he would say something as ignorant as this
  9. so frost was confirmed (dew point 32 or lower?)
  10. I see the same white stripe down the middle that the one I killed had.
  11. omg yes! nightmares are coming back lol it looks much smaller after it died though I was up most of the night because after I hit it with a bar of soap I saw it fell but had no idea where and when i woke up this morning I saw it was dead. Thats happened before.....they must be easy to kill but if they fall in a place you can't see it makes you think they got away.
  12. Are centipedes dangerous at all? I saw a 4 inch long one with a white stripe down its middle in my bathroom last night and freaked out (I guess the cold weather brought it in?) I killed it but I didn't know it was dead until this morning. Also saw a mouse streak across my floor.....just great.....now the glue traps have to come back out.
  13. Yeah it wasn't even our coldest night. Do you have a low for JFK? I've been looking for that. I recorded 35 with a dew point of 32 and yet there was no frost.
  14. Haha you reminded me of a classic movie.....Soylent Green
  15. Besides lab grown, I wonder what name we can use? Insta-meat? lol, sounds marketable? Love how this sloth shows sentience
  16. well we have to fix the science denier problem before we can really progress anywhere....without a general belief in science, society is going to be stuck in a rut like it is. I agree with the stipulations in the Three Laws you set forth, and I would also add for the benefit of human health (and animal welfare) we should be vigilant of the types of chemicals used on these animals (like antibiotics, growth hormones, etc.). Also having read that we can lower emissions from animals by feeding them lemongrass and without chopping down trees in order to have land for them makes me think the whole process can be made much more sustainable.
  17. Thats actually the only time I've lost power in a snowstorm. Fortunately it was only gone for a couple of hours but that was one wild month!
  18. I dont have issues with traditional hunting for sustenance....factory farming, however, is disgusting, immoral and unhealthy. Sustainably doing it is a different matter however, because (for example) indigenous people have been doing that for centuries, and millenia, without driving species to extinction.
  19. We had a 1955-56 style la nina a few years ago when we had 4 big coastal storms in March and even an April snowstorm on the east coast a few years ago.
  20. we're in the southeast, everything happens north of us
  21. what does it take to kill rag weed and end the allergy and bug season?
  22. you also have some back loaded la ninas as well as la ninas which are front and back end loaded and torch in the middle. The nao matters a lot more here.
  23. going to stay a TS all the way to Ireland? I wonder what the water temps are there
