  1. radar is lying out this way......shows green and yellow echoes and not a single drop has fallen here. The sky isn't even that dark, seeing filtered sunshine
  2. I think elevation matters more than latitude. Near Lake Harmony we average 70 inches of snow and the latitude is the same as The Bronx. The further north you go the closer you get to redneck territory anyway.
  3. Cities best prepared for climate change: https://twitter.com/i/events/1430983286709538822 1. Wellington, NZ (no wonder so many rich people are moving to NZ.) 2. Toronto, CA 3. Washington, DC 4. Bogota, CO 5. Copenhagen, DE Also talks about the importance of taking excess CO2 out of the atmosphere.
  4. No time for 20 years dude, we should've started back in the 80s when I and many others already knew what was going on but thanks to coverups by large corporations who deserve to lose ALL their money regular people had no clue. But we need to deal with them with a vengeance and make the French Revolution look like a picnic.
  5. Yeah but this doesn't mean we shouldn't get off of fossil fuels. There are MANY reasons to get off of them (especially for health and pollution reasons) and I would go further and hold the people in charge of these companies in a Nuremberg style International Court for crimes against humanity for what they've been doing for decades. An example must be made out of them to make sure no one ever tries this ever again. Make them suffer.
  6. This couldn't wait until nightfall? Messed up my hottest day of the year dammit
  7. I think these storms just randomly formed, too quickly to warn anyone.
  8. Looks like a storm randomly formed near JFK and that's where all this rumbling is coming from? Getting clouds blowing off from it over here.
  9. Yeah but I haven't used Nextdoor (yet), I look at stations on wunderground for weather info. I have wifi out there and there's about three or four other local users whose wifi names pop up when I'm logging in.
  10. if Central Florida had big snowy noreasters in the winter lol They still jackpot in those storms
  11. Same here...... 90, 91, 92, and today was the topper at 96!
  12. wow I just heard loud rumbling thunder even though it's completely sunny here, not a cloud in the sky
  13. They always happen there, whats the reason for it? They also have the most extreme temps lol. East facing shorelines always have the most extreme and fun weather lol
  14. Just dont want to see a microburst, one of those damaged my roof and balcony there by dropping a bunch of trees on it. The media is ridiculously bad out there, no one even reported it, I had to find out through the power company what happened.
  15. I conquer sneaky heat today, topped out at 96.
  16. I hate it when storms mess with the hottest time of day. Glad they wont get here until close to sunset.
  17. If it's one of those really old bridges near the NJ/PA border I may have seen it.
  18. Wait is that near I-80? I think I've seen it
  19. So they skipped over that area or formed east of there?
  20. Interesting, I wonder if they'll make it to Jim Thorpe-Albrightsville-Lake Harmony-Lehighton area. Just found out Jim Thorpe has a heat index of 105!
  21. Today being my hottest day of the year (96) I'm wondering if there are going to be any more 90 degree highs for the south shore of Nassau County this year.
  22. Made it to 96 today my hottest of the year so at least I made it into the mid 90s this year haha It's actually pretty rare not to have at least 1 95+ high.
  23. I hate all these horseflies it's all a bunch of BS. I'm spraying everywhere to get rid of this insect overpopulation.
  24. 1980 was a super hot coast to coast summer though, recent summers have been weaksauce here. If you analyze 1980 it has all the elements of our hottest summers that's why I include it in the list. You can't have a summer like that anymore with all this rain that's been falling every month. Even 1983 which was my wettest year on record and still super hot had that dry spell for summer. The heat gets bullied by the coastal front when that wasn't the case 10 years ago and prior. Too much water vapor in the air to heat us up like it used to before. and I hit 96 today on the south shore so all city sensors have issues, we need to get rid of ASOS.
