  1. I would also like to know if the volcanic eruption in the Caribbean had any influence in this.
  2. Does anyone have any images of the spectacular supermoon total lunar eclipse? Couldn't see it here because it happened here during daylight and after moonset, but I'm hoping someone has some nice images to post! I'll post this very interesting APOD about the blue color in the moon being due to atmospheric ozone! https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap151003.html
  3. When do you think our highest temps will be, Chris? It looks like it starts to cool down again around the 12th?
  4. Don, were the highs similar today? And did we have any record lows?
  5. I'm just heating my bedroom lol. Whenever I go to another part of the house it feels like winter! This really is March like weather. I heard tomorrow the sun is going to come out I'm going to do my BBQ then! I hope we all get to enjoy some sun tomorrow so we can at least say we had a good Memorial Day!
  6. Chris, do you happen to have the hi/lo temps for those top Mays? I dont remember any of those storms lol. 1984, 1989, 1990 and 1998 So weird that 1989 and 1990 had them on the same date, back to back years!
  7. It's still raining in NEPA so no surprise they made it over 3"! Over 3" here too. Walt, where is that report of 3.17" in PA from is that near MPO?
  8. Were you singing while you were running? No wonder the Yankees got swept in Detroit
  9. Got one for 1944, Uncle? That was part of the 11 yr cycle and was a stand out summer for that decade. Got a historic hurricane that year too.
  10. What was the high today? The same as yesterday?
  11. It seems to happen every May now, Don, why didn't we get these kind of aberrant arctic shots in May back when I was growing up in the 80s?
  12. We didn't get this kind of weirdness in the 80s, I wonder why we get it now?
  13. It doesn't take all that long to dry out the ground anyway. I dont think 100 is possible here in June anyway because it hasn't happened in my lifetime, however the heat of next week should dry out the ground nicely, thereby setting the stage for 100 degrees in July. It's like a cold airmass that comes in before a snowstorm, dropping the temperature of the ground and priming it for a big snowstorm that will start to stick right away.
  14. NYC is going to get there soon enough. cold summers are for lazy people
  15. 1967 had a historically cold and snowy spring, after 1966 had a historically hot and dry summer.
  16. It's been saying it for multiple days.... LETS DO IT. If we're going to be hot it might as well be historic. We haven't had a 100 degree day in June in a few decades.
  17. Philly also had a 20 inch snowstorm in April wow.
  18. Nobody remembers 97 degrees, everyone remembers 104 degrees lol. I remember when I took tests how disappointed I was when I got 96-98....I was a perfectionist, 100 or bust.
  19. lol 43 at MPO? Are they going to get close to freezing tonight, Don?
  20. and a lot of people love high heat. a 70 degree day is just as boring as a baseball pitch thrown at 70 mph give me 100+ and low humidity thats perfect
  21. Lots of greenery, and trees and shrubs are highly effective carbon sinks
  22. Not really, heat is electric and one is kept at 50 when I am at the other one.
  23. Wow both my houses got over 2.5" and almost 3" Got wind gust reports too, Walt?
