  1. 1987 too which I don't remember but it looks like it had a nice big upper 90s heatwave in late May. I just remember our TV Mets back in those years used to say we are going right from winter to summer and they never do that anymore. I wonder if those months like May 2018 and May 2022 racked up the 90 degree days like 1987 and 1991 did in May at least.
  2. 1991: May record seven consecutive 90°+ days-- DC May's record high temperature 99°, low 78° are both all time highs for May. Norfolk, VA hit 100° setting a new all-time record high for the month of May and Philadelphia, PA hit 97° tying their May record high set the previous day. This was the warmest May on record in Washington, D.C. The city also observed a record 11 days of 90-degree heat. (Ref. Wilson Wx. History) It's Mays like this that remind me of how hot May used to be. 1991 was the year of my HS graduation and almost every May during my HS years (1987-1991) was hot. 1993 and 1995 during my college years followed in their footsteps too. I remember we used to go right from winter to summer, which was ideal.
  3. yeah it reminds me of weenies who hang on to fringe model totals with snowfall too lol
  4. most people don't like rain also, this track would only be rain during the winter so I doubt anyone would really care.
  5. Records:Highs:EWR: 98 (2022)NYC: 96 (1939)LGA: 96 (1987)JFK: 94 (2022)Lows:EWR: 44 (1938)NYC: 46 (1938)LGA: 50 (2021)JFK: 48 (2023/2021) wow lots of recent extremes! 1987 was very hot, I don't even remember it but the early 90s were stacking up 1991 was one of our hottest summers, later tied by 1993 for most 90 degree days!! See, Tony, I told you it was hotter back then ;-) 1987 - Thunderstorms in New England produced wind gusts up to 90 mph at Worcester, MA, and Northboro, MA, and hail an inch and a half in diameter at Williston, VT. Unseasonably hot weather prevailed in the northeastern U.S. The afternoon high of 94 degrees at Portland, ME, was a record for the month of May. (Storm Data) (The National Weather Summary) 1988 - Hot and humid weather prevailed in the eastern U.S. Thirteen cities reported record high temperatures for the date. Cape Hatteras, NC, reported their first ninety degree day in May in 115 years of records. "Dust buster" thunderstorms in northwest Texas drenched Amarillo with more than three inches of rain. (The National Weather Summary) 1991: May record seven consecutive 90°+ days-- DC May's record high temperature 99°, low 78° are both all time highs for May. 6. I'm very wary of *departures* if it doesn't come with a lot of 90 degree highs it doesn't mean much.
  7. Not really a bust since the heavy rain was always going to be NW of our area. This was always going to be an under 1 inch storm for us. The sun coming out so early was a bit of a surprise, but it's awesome to have it most of the day. This is no *lull* either (I don't know why TV Mets use this stupid word, they're like robots), we're not going to be getting anything else today.
  8. The sun is in and out of the clouds overall it looks like a mostly rain free weekend for us.
  9. you're probably under a Flash Flood Warning. the drought was gone 2 weeks ago
  10. It also depends if it's actually a hot summer with a lot of 90 degree days or merely a very warm summer with artificially inflated averages because of higher mins.
  11. No one wants any more rain, it's good to see it sent somewhere else.
  12. Yep it's wonderful to see :-)
  13. Don't buy in to high amounts, they're just as off as they are in the winter, this was always going to be a NW rainstorm with high winds at the coast. Sunshine is much better than flooding at any rate.
  14. It was never going to rain that much east of NJ. It's good to wake up to sunshine.
  15. I like the winds, they blew away the clouds
  16. Luckily no rainfall here this morning I woke up to bright sunny skies
  17. No they were right on target. The stupid high rainfall predictions are just as bad as the stupid high snowfall predictions in the winter. This was always going to produce the high rainfall amounts NW and that's exactly what happened. I woke up to sunshine here at 6 am.
  18. Looks like a cyanobacteria infestation has popped up near Stony Brook, I knew all this excessive water was going to cause major problems. wow near 90 degrees by next Thursday absolutely awesome, can't wait to get this crap outta here!
  19. I loved that movie!
  20. there's not going to be 1+ rain here that's going to be in the Poconos and NW NJ
  21. send it to a planet or moon that lacks water for all I care
  22. smoke is definitely better than rain
  23. trust me I hate all this useless crap H20 time to wormhole it to the moon or any other world that lacks water. This planet already is 70% water, we don't need any more.
  24. as long as it stays away from here (mostly) my allergies are already acting up, I really hate rain/humidity
  25. Yes !! Meanwhile bright and sunny now....
