  1. I also noticed there are days when LGA is colder than JFK in the spring and summer. I enjoy those days.
  2. the only lightning I ever want to see is ball lightning. still mostly unexplained.
  3. when you have offshore winds JFK will often be several degrees hotter than Central Park. It's one reason why I love the south shore, we always heat up more quickly than other areas, even more than Newark, on an offshore wind.
  4. NYC: 96 (1880) record early season heatwave continued on These early era heatwaves don't get talked about enough. We also had a massive 10 day heatwave in 1896.
  5. We also have to remember that it's a park and park temperature data is not comparable to airport temperature data.
  6. 1896 - A massive tornado struck Saint Louis, MO, killing 306 persons and causing thirteen million dollars damage. The tornado path was short, but cut across a densely populated area. It touched down six miles west of Eads Bridge in Saint Louis and widened to a mile as it crossed into East Saint Louis. The tornado was the most destructive of record in the U.S. up until that time. It pierced a five-eighths inch thick iron sheet with a two by four inch pine plank. A brilliant display of lightning accompanied the storm. (David Ludlum) (The Weather Channel) Was this an F5 that hit the center of a large city? Omg
  7. hopefully not, we don't *need* any more rain. Going by what usually happens this time of year, we'll likely only have scattered showers with most of the heavier rain to our south.
  8. good let's get rid of the onshore crap
  9. JFK is hotter than Central Park on the best days, nice downsloping winds, low humidity, good air quality, etc.
  10. 99 is such an annoying number lol, it might as well hit 100. it's like getting 19 inches of snow, 20 sounds so much better.
  11. you mean rainier than August 2011, summer 2010 was nice and hot and dry throughout.
  12. hail sounds fun but lightning is dangerous, whenever I see it, I feel like I'm going to get struck.
  13. same high for all New York City reporting sites-- 73
  14. is it really hot there? Austin must have much different weather from Dallas, I saw it was in the 70s there.
  15. Funny how the last day of March was so much warmer than this.
  16. There is no onshore flow, where are these clouds coming from?
  17. The sun has been in and out of the clouds here, like right now, it's more cloudy than blue skies here.
  18. I don't see it, we'll get rain Wednesday-Thursday, that's it. Most of these other models are just not that accurate. They don't work in the winter, why would they work now lol?
  19. whats wrong with just pure sunshine though? water vapor just pollutes everything, makes the skies hazy, traps car exhaust, creates more air pollution, etc.
  20. Yay the entire 1995-96 season and especially the January 1996 blizzard are in there too? The storms I really want to see are January 1996, PD2 February 2003 and January 2016 of course !!! I'd love to see April 1982 and February 1983 but I don't think you'll go that far back..... will you?!
  21. what bright sunshine? it's about 50% cloudy now
  22. anywhere once we suck out the air pollutant known as water vapor
  23. my ideal weather, 100 during the day and 50 at night, very low humidity and clear blue skies!
  24. This pattern would NEVER be possible in the winter.
  25. Yes, we hit 70 here. Not just NYC but LGA was colder than us too.
