70 didn’t happen on the island, max was 63 at Shirley and Farmingdale gusted to 59. Manageable for the island in the winter. Inland areas wouldn’t be able to handle 60 as well as the island, but the infrastructure did well overall

Been in the car wash for longer than I thought that thin little line would last. Wind at the first part. Wind has calmed a little but not yet the rain. I think it's about to.
The line got much wider as it crossed western Suffolk. Very impressive

Unreal! Gust to 58 at the nearest reputable PWS for wind, Northport HS.
Incredible rains. Epic

It’s got that sound now. Constant gusts to the 50s. Wow

ACY gusted to 58. Lots of outages in SW Jersey around Trenton, moving up to Morris County. So the wind is verifying in NJ, where it’s in the upper 50s. 54 here now and rising

It is nasty and windy outside but not as bad as a few weeks ago. We will see what the next few hours bring.
We haven’t gusted to 50 yet, but worst isn’t for another 2-3 hours.

Really amping up now, gusting closer to 45
-
Up to 52 now which helps the wind speeds increase, definitely a jump up now
-
First higher end gust of the night so far, probably somewhere in the low 40s

Makes sense, but Upton wind maps had MBY in the “extreme” zone. Not that I’m wishing for it
Peak winds aren’t for another 4 hours.

Pretty quiet here, which is odd, considering I’m on the south shore. Light, to moderate winds
Probably more of an inversion right on the south shore due to the cooler waters. The local PWS to me show gusts 35-37, which seems dead on
