  1. Rt. 27 corridor in Maryland from Germantown to the Mason-Dixon line is about to get a good soaking...now that's some training. Winds have shifted out of the east here in Reisterstown...I wonder if there's a subtle boundary or bay breeze that firing the storms off of Parr's Ridge? @wxmeddler would probably know more.
  2. The activity is probably terrain induced too. Flood Warning issues just now it looks like.
  3. Now that's a legitimate flash flood risk west of I-81 in Gore, VA developing. Wouldn't surprise me to see a FFW issued.
  4. Northern Baltimore County through Selinsgrove, PA is the winner. Some unreal flooding ongoing in PA right now.
  5. Next week looks o have a lot more potential for widespread activity compared to this week. Might even be thread worthy.
  6. That's a bit over the top. If we had more wind sure I'd agree, but there's only been a smattering of tree calls statewide.
  7. It's a hail mary here...radar isn't looking great.
  8. Okay the last update for the 925 & 850 mb moisture transport finally looks good for DC...direct SE flow and some deep moisture convergence nearby. Maybe we jackpot the last round here.
  9. What's impressive with this event is farther north into PA and NY. It's like every round of precip has rotated back along the Susquehanna River basin...truly a significant hydrologic event up there.
  10. Please take it to the banter.
  11. I'm 30 and ~7" of rain after a drought in the middle of summer isn't thread worthy.
  12. If you take a look at the SPC meso analysis, that's directly under an area of deep moisture convergence. One the precip moves off that area it fades out fast. The meso guidance has all of that precip avoid the entire area.
  13. At my age, it's hard to get excited over anything so I just roll with it. Annapolis just gust to 41 mph. Some of the stronger cells are trying to pull down some wind from aloft. Looks like that gust prompted a special marine warning for Baltimore Inner Harbor.
  14. LWX trimming pops down a tad...sun trying to poke out...maybe that'll re-energize stuff for later but I'm not holding my breath.
  15. Meso guidance has that RIC to NC stuff break apart and shooting offshore through the day. There's a bit of re-development progged over Amelia Court House and Blackstone but otherwise it's dry over the next 18 hours: https://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/hrrr/HRRR/displayMapLocalDiskDateDomainZipTZA.cgi?keys=hrrr_ncep_jet:&runtime=2018072412&plot_type=totp_z4sfc&fcst=08&time_inc=60&num_times=37&model=hrrr&ptitle=HRRR Model Fields - Experimental&maxFcstLen=36&fcstStrLen=-1&domain=z4&adtfn=1
  16. Yea the NJ, DE and MD/VA beaches lucked out. Probably real humid down there though.
  17. Woke up this morning to a doe wrecking my neighbor's peach tree. Our garden was wrapped with netting to stop their attacks and so far it's working. We've put down some Espoma Vegetable & Tomato Tone™ (https://www.amazon.com/Tomato-tone-Organic-Fertilizer-YOUR-TOMATOES/dp/B0011UEKKE). It's really helped replenish the soil over the past couple of years since the previous homeowner was not too keen on working the garden properly.
  18. Rain shooting east...shocker.
  19. 0.47" since 4:00pm yesterday Gaithersburg
  20. Tornado Warning Fairfax County.
  21. Finally raining in Reisterstown...my hostas are happy
  22. Looks like Charles Town and Baltimore City win. The rest of the area is pretty quiet on the radar.
