Garrett County airport in Oakland now reporting light snow with visibility under 1/2 mile. Grant County Airport in WV reporting light snow as well with visibility just under 2 miles. It's coming!

Hi all, just wanted to stop in and say I'm encouraged by the returns on Pittsburgh's radar. Looks like there won't be some monster cutoff right at the Mason-Dixon line. Might be one of those events where York and Lancaster counties get a late upgrade to a low end Winter Storm Warning.

Some impressive LSRs coming out of the WV/OH border. Already 3" - 5" on the ground and comments in LSRs reading things like "snowing very hard".

State of Maryland government agencies and offices are closed tomorrow, Monday, January 6, 2025, for all counties and Baltimore City from 6:00 a.m. through the end of the day shift. Teleworkers who are scheduled to telework should remain at home and work as scheduled unless leave is granted. Emergency Essential Employees should report as scheduled.

Was filling the bird feeder and saw SWA 3883 from MSP to BWI with it's landing lights on. You could see snow aloft through the lights. Almost time!

He's too humble to admit this, but @wxmeddler deserves a metric ton of credit for getting the Clarksville mesonet's snow depth sensor fixed today. Snow weenies owe him a beer!

Per Maryland Mesonet, Garrett and Allegany county stations are showing a spike in relative humidity. Looks like it's close to snowing out there.

Based off Charleston, WV radar and surface observations (mPING and mesonet/AWOS/ASOS), the northern edge of the snow shield will probably make it up to the PA Turnpike. Looks good for the northern folks.
