  1. that would be sweet. Keep the Euro track but moisten up the northern edge up to Rt 30 in PA to around 0.4 or 0.5 liquid and everyone gets an easy win!
  2. It felt great in Bittinger putting the mesonet site in yesterday. Like deep winter!
  3. Definitely a few convective elements working east from I-81 into Loudoun County. Someone is going to get a quick half inch to inch.
  4. Turn on some Trammell Starks from Jan 1996 and watch the snow come in: https://twcclassics.com/audio/years-1996.html
  5. As others have mentioned in the past, the northern edge of the precip shield is moistening up as we close in. Love the 12z Euro and EPS. Let's reel this one in.
  6. Lightning strikes showing up just NW of Petersburg, WV!
  7. Camp David ASOS is reporting "haze" and 1.75 mil visibility. Likely small flakes and a lot of them.
  8. It's refreshing to see the primary stay along the KY/TN line on a lot of the guidance now. That plus a robust 700 mb low passing to our south help us win in the snowfall department.
  9. Would argue the counties in red are probably lining up for a winter storm watch at some point.
  10. Couple of mPING reports coming in out there.
  11. Couple of things we have going in our favor today: 1.) Cloud cover will limit high temperature potential. We might bust a degree or three below guidance. Solar radiation appears pretty minimal as we approach the lunch hour. 2.) Dewpoints in the low to mid 20s will help us wet bulb below freezing pretty quickly. 3.) Soil temperatures are just above freezing, so the ground isn't torched. Let's get this appetizer!
  12. Nice dump of cold air. Legit cross polar flow at the end of the run.
  13. 12z GFS appears to be an inch of liquid equivalent for most of us.
  14. The GFS appears to cave to the Euro/CMC. Solid run for many. Where do I sign?
  15. Latest HRRR tries to nose in a small wedge of ~200j/kg of CAPE and hints at thundersnow.
  16. When you see a closed 700mb low swinging by near or just to the south of you, expect a last minute surprise. Someone could jackpot decently from this.
  17. Almost everyone gets frozen precip on the NAM then we get it to stick around. Nice!
  18. I'm so happy. It's going to snow and stick around a bit.
  19. The dewpoint is currently in the upper teens to low 20s regionwide and there are colder temperature advecting in aloft.
  20. Elements for the Sunday -> Monday event are getting better sampled as they enter the North American upper air network.
  21. I truly feel for snow lovers south of I-64. You've been gipped far too often.
  22. Ta da. Thank you @wxmeddler for leading the charge on this one.
