  1. NBC4 talking about this maybe being a bust for DC metro.
  2. Downsloping and lack of strong midday sun killed us. We need an EML to overcome the terrain issues here. That was reinforced with the 2021 Derecho.
  3. I really do hate it when I'm right. The mid level cloud deck screwed us today. If we had stayed clear, I would've been eating crow.
  4. If you have radar scope, you can get longer range base reflectivity from the terminal radars. Should be 'Long Range Reflectivity', second option from the top when selecting what mode you're viewing.
  5. Per the LWX AFD, looks like the MCS in Tennessee has killed off any chance of an EML: Latest SPC meso analysis seems to confirm this.
  6. I'm pleasantly surprised that we've managed to clear out a bit, but there's more debris cirrus over the mountains.
  7. Socked in with clouds. Don't see how realize any potential today north of I-66.
  8. That's gotta be the HRRR mix out bias. No other meso model gets our dews that low.
  9. Big red flag for tomorrow.is how underwhelming the event has been today in the Midwest. Was expected to be a squall line, instead it's mostly clusters.
  10. Worried that we see a drop off north of I-66. This seems like a Virginia and maybe Delmarva event.
  11. If things sustain or uptick a bit I could eventually see a D1 ENH for southern Delmarva or RIC land. Really not confident about this north of I-66 until I wake up Monday morning and see we aren't contaminated with debris clouds or something else.
  12. It's an FAA radar so the mystery will remain a mystery.
  13. If we wake up Monday with little or no debris clouds, it could be interesting. Stout mid level lapse rates are a key ingredient in overcoming the mesoscale geographic features that mitigate a lot of our severe weather days.
