  1. Looks like cold air is about to spill over the Catoctins. Westminster mesonet down to 33 degrees.
  2. Snow has picked up in intensity finally. Looks like the surface freezing line is along the Frederick/Washington County line.

  6. That's slightly reassuring. I'm -2 at 925 and -5 at 850. Probably won't take too much to start getting some sort of frozen, but I was hoping to have the surface temperatures closer to freezing for everyone.
  7. Really trying to be optimistic this winter. These "waiting on the cold" events are so dicey and I'm rooting for the lowlands this time around.
  8. This is likely due to a low level temperature inversion. You can see this on the mesonet website. There is a significant difference between Westminster and Clarksville.

  13. To be absolutely clear, I love all of our NOAA/NWS partners. It's just sad that the public and Congress don't give our NWP folks the money they need to be #1.
  14. Dude, if this wind up being right then it's jut a curb stomp of the US NWP.
  15. RTMA 2m temp analysis shows we're not too far off from getting to freezing: https://www.pivotalweather.com/maps.php?data_type=obs&r=us_ma&p=sfct-imp&ds=rtma_ru 4 inch soil temperatures across Maryland haven't budged, which is good:
  16. The wailing and gnashing of teeth from the same posters is getting tiresome.
