Hey Guys...my NWS (weather.gov page) still has me in a Winter Storm Watch issued from 4:26am.  I haven't seen anyone mention being in a warning here, but they have to issue the warning at least 12 hours before the start of the event.  So, ???

Same for me - I wish we were able to read the text output for the warning in our area.

    It’s one regular season game.

    The Sixers will be fine.

It's not one regular season game. Last month they lost at home to Boston by how many?

    50. At home. National TV. Further, even while they've been winning recently, their defense has been horrid. Routinely giving up between 60-75 points in the first half of games. You simply will not get away with that against good teams.

The Sixers are a good team but far from elite. They will bow out in the 2nd round.

Yeah I completely agree with your take from yesterday about temps being the primary issue for us.  I had multiple periods where the snow was moderate to downright heavy and it just couldn't get any traction on the surfaces, even mulch and decks and whatnot.  I never dropped below 35 throughout the event.  Over a half inch of QPF producing .1" of accumulated frozen pretty much tells the story haha.

    Yep. Spot on assessment.

Sorry I didn't get to post my storm totals from yesterday.  It actually was pretty interesting in that I had a ton of liquid, none of which was rain, but not that much snow either.  Total liquid (melted) was 0.47".  Total snow was 0.8".  It really was more than that but it kept melting as it was hitting the board.  Temp was close to 33 degrees for nearly the whole event except the final hour or so when it rose to 34 and eventually to 35.  For being such a wet snow you'd think it would have stuck to everything, but most of the trees had very little stuck on them except the evergreens.  The snow to liquid ratio came out to a ridiculous 0.6:1 which I don't think I've ever measured from an all-snow event before!

Thanks Stephen! So, you had less precip but still managed more snowfall. This tells me that my biggest issue yesterday was indeed the temp. (some might say that more precip would have lowered my temp further, but I had the QPF)

Showing off my low-lying cold here as I dropped to 24 last night, same as THV.  Incredibly thick fog this morning (ice fog no less), couldn't even remotely see the Amishman's barn less than 1/8 mile away.  Remarkably, it fully burned off by like 9am.  Waiting for the precip from yesterday to fully melt but looks like I should come in somewhere around .6".

My way-too-early thoughts for LSV Saturday......I think we wake up to a period of heavy rain, followed by a quick transition to a cold wind-driven snow and temperatures plummeting through the 20s throughout the day.  Flash freeze in full effect.  I'm thinking something like 1-3" for the LSV, 3-6" for the middle parts of the valley, and 6-12" for western and northern tier areas.  As others have mentioned, always tricky having the cold chase the precip in these scenarios but this one looks to have real potential, and the needle seems to want to thread just right with the two pieces of energy.  I think it was @losetoa6 who mentioned the HRRR doing well lately and I couldn't agree more.  I used to ignore that model beyond like 12-18 hours out but it's done a really nice job of picking up on the finer details even at range lately.  The 12z HRRR sure likes like it's about to be a flush hit and the 12z NAM just came in very strong as well.  This could be the real deal for the forum.  In any event, I think we're looking at one heck of a dynamic day of weather with some damaging winds, brutal cold, multiple precip types, and hopefully meaningful accumulating snow for mostly everyone.  All aboard!

The Black Knight standing up and doing some Thursday morning dirty talk. I like!

Where I grew up in Southern Lancaster county (about 600 feet) I remember several times each winter we would have snow on the ground during borderline events while at Penn Manor high school in Millersville (lower in elevation) would have rain or just wet snow.

Mt. Nebo and Martic Township, at their higher elevations, were even snowier. That area is a VERY unique microclimate that many people don't know about.

I missed this post! You are exactly right - I was a student at Marticville back in the 1970s. (gulp) I remember one winter when we got an early dismissal at the middle school - by the time the busses pulled out of the lots, there was probably close to 6" on the ground and it was snowing like crazy. I was pumped! My bus headed NW towards the outskirts of Millersville and by the time I got home...there was less than 1" on the ground.

I was never more ready to go back to school that day.
