I was wondering...why is the York Fair so early now?  I thought it was a September thing?  Are they trying to get in before more lockdowns?   I did just read Kohr's left the fair which was surprising.

It was moved to July last year, but Covid destroyed that idea. I wonder (I honestly don't know) if it had to do with getting more people to attend with schools not in session.

I always thought that fall made a better season for fairs.

78 at 10:30 here.  Feels hotter than it really is.  Wundermap for the McHotness so far.  frequently mid 80's showing in Central LSV

That 82 south of Elizabethtown is right down the road from me, and matches my current temp perfectly.

Ouch to the 86 down near Columbia...also close by to me.

Possibly last day for 90's through week one of August (tomorrow might be close for some)?    EC vs. GFS.

Good chance I'll hit 90 tomorrow assuming a lot of sun prior to the frontal passage.

We're almost to August, and with it comes further reduction of daylight. One nice thing to look forward to is potentially cooler nights as the month goes on, even if it's a hot day.

Matches up well with the LNS 67.  It does feel especially hot out this AM and I just walked out and did not see a cloud in the sky.  This may be a day where we gain 30+ degrees (over here at least) on the high as compared to the low it started from.

Yes sir, full sun here and it's off to the races. Temps will be higher today than Jeff Spicoli was rolling out of the van in Fast Times at Ridgemont High...

A not too shabby 64 this AM.  That will be warmer than most of the next 10 days lows per the GFS.

    My low was 71. It’s already 77.

I bottomed out at 64 last night.  Liking the look of the troughiness the models are depicting for the extended period, perhaps breaking down by the end of next week.  Unfortunately, not much moisture associated with said troughiness though, dry is the name of the game for most.

68 here for the low. Right now it's already 78.

Another trend I noticed lately, on the GFS, is that it goes with this cool summer look until the very end then throws a 95-100 day in there day 15 and 16.  Its been doing that for several days now.  Kicking it back each day.

I’ve noticed that too. There’s always at least a day or two of fantasy heat, but as the days and weeks pass it stays in fantasy land.

Sounds a lot like winter storms...

Now this is something we can all celebrate together ha.  Also, just noticed someone on Cocorahs near Nottingham in Chester County recorded 5.18" yesterday, yahtzee.

It started raining down that way about this time yesterday and just kept going. Thing is, it rained hard but from what I could tell, not the real excessive stuff that we sometimes see. It just rained "hard" for hour upon hour.

Refusing the penalty does negate the foul, it just keeps the ball where it is :-).

My strategy was to try and advance to fall as quickly as possible. LOL

Talk about sticky, dew is still a sultry 70 here. I knew it would be hot today but was hoping my dew would be more in the lower 60s by this point.

That is the great thing about baseball though...any given series a bad team can get hot and string a few wins together, even against a far superior team.

The O's have swept a total of 2 series this year. Both on the road. One was at Boston, the other at Houston.

    Go figure.

This post did not age well at all...O's with sweep #3 of the season, and their first at home. (against the hated Nats to boot)

I think today was the last day for a bonanza over the next 5-7 days...and its very much underperforming.

Hardly any rain around at all...and yet southern Lanco got hit hard this afternoon. Some areas below Quarryville got a couple of inches. (This is second hand information)

Fair, Snyder is a giant piece of human garbage for many reasons. I was more focused on on-the-field results only.

Again, much like the Orioles, all it takes is a horrific owner to decimate a franchise at almost every level. When I was growing up, Washington was a team that NFL fans had a lot of respect for. Sad to see what Snyder did to that fanbase.
