Two days in 2000, July 19th and July 26th, stayed at 69.

July 3, 1982 had a very rare 5 Heating Degree days to go along with it.

50 degree low on July 2nd is equally impressive. Surprised I don't remember that. It was the summer prior to my senior year in high school and the girls were relentless around me at the pool that summer.

I agree to a point. The bolded is probably a bridge too far in most summers for people not living in northern NY or the upper peninsula of Michigan or something.

Yeah...mid 70s in these parts in July is pretty good. Yesterday was special. Not sure the last time I was in the 60s in mid-late July.

I like the way Bubbler things though. :)

Certainly not disagreeing with that. I will say the mid 80s are much more palatable in a year like this one where they are much more prevalent. I like the cool downs, but 85 is a lot easier to stomach when the pattern doesn’t oscillate between hot and seasonable with no cool parts.

Mid 80's is fine for summer be we are so far over average for the season, half way through, it is not unreasonable to ask for a few days staying in the 60's or 70's.  We got one yesterday and I suspect we get one more in the next 10 days.

While I prefer it to be as cool as possible...

I don't really care if it's 90 degrees. It SHOULD be hot this time of year. What has made our recent weather miserable has not been the temperature...it's been the dewpoint. 92/62 is tolerable. 92/77 is not.

You guys added ten pages to this thread since Friday, wowsers!  Enjoyed a nice weekend of swimming, landscaping, and imbibing.  Got .75" from the storms on saturday but despite being warned never witnessed anything you'd call severe.  Looks like the forecast is hot and dry with a side of smoke.  You can really see the thicker smoke sitting over Canada on the visible imagery, which I guess is supposed to work its way down into our area more as the day goes on.  As someone else mentioned, I'm a little surprised there is no mention of this from CTP in the AFD.  Overall, nothing too exciting on the horizon weather-wise.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how you made out on Saturday, especially from the early afternoon storm. I would have thought you got more than what you did...or maybe you did get a decent amount from that and hardly any from round #2. I got .23" from the 1pm storm, .66" from the evening round, and then .03" after midnight for an "event" total of .92"

It is so cool and breezy that I would not blame someone for wearing long sleeves if taking a stroll. 69 with some occasional drops and winds are stiff in the 15-20MPH range.

74 here now. Picked up .03" at some since midnight, I have no idea when though.

My stroll will NOT include a long sleeve shirt. :)

I am a Sox Fan back to the 80's so not trendy but there are a LOT of stuck up, know it all Red Sox fans.  I doubt you have ever seen me be too rude to any specific team on here beyond pointing out times when my favorite may have bested them.  We are all humans and I hope to never be looked at as a Red Sox fan vs. a fan of sports who roots for the Red Sox.

Well said! I am a baseball fanatic first who happens to be a fan of the Orioles for the past 47 years.

Your commitment to walking, in how often you mention it, is pretty cool and impressive.  I could use some of your gusto in my own exercise endeavors.

Thank you. The commitment comes easy  because we love to do it...no matter what the weather. :)

Why the living hell did you choose 230 pm today to go for a walk? Are you crazy? :D

    Crazy? Um...yes.

Walking every day is important to us...we should have gone earlier, but a lot of people are out on Saturday mornings and I was looking for less crowds and more solitude. Normally, we'll walk around 6-7pm this time of year but I was figuring that would be go time for storms.

    That's my rationale. LOL

  8. I cannot believe how humid it is outside.

We were walking on the river trail when the storm formed. We left the lot under mostly sunny skies with a few puffy cumulus clouds. We were 17 minutes into the walk when the first rain drops started falling. Things are developing that quickly. And in this atmosphere, once the match is lit, they're exploding quickly.
