  1. Well he's certainly not jumping on these 10 day threats like he used to, and for that, I give him credit. That inner weenie is not an easy thing to contain.
  2. I don't have the stats for my area in particular, but that is still BN. Late December '17 into January '18 had a decent stretch of cold, and as bad as last year was, January featured more arctic air. Next week we welcome February with the potential to see 50 or higher for several days.
  3. The thing that amazes me is the lack of cold highs. January should "always" have some days where highs lock in the 20's, especially in NW Jersey. It's like the opposite of summer where we don't have crazy highs but warm lows.
  4. Definitely a nice day to enjoy before the washout tomorrow.
  5. Feels very warm for January 24th, especially in the sun.
  6. Wow, very interesting. That was a brutal Winter indeed, the same one in fact where Washington set up camp in Morristown.
  7. 13 inches so far this season (running on par with last year IMBY). This year, 8 of those inches came from one storm in December, whereas last season, 7 were a result of the November storm.
  8. I think it's because the winds were very strong like Cp mentioned, and they already had snow on the ground too.
  9. 2 inches here in Butler, what'd you end up with @rgwp96? The problem with people is that they think their vehicles are snow capable, and they very well might be, but the tires they have are complete garbage. Most people have no idea how much tires really mean.
  10. Pretty heavy rain and strong gusts came through about an hour ago.
  11. Probably will, usually the case with warm anomalies like today.
  12. Absolutely ripping downpours, hail, and deep thunder. Sure doesn't feel like the end of December.
  13. Right, it's as if November and December provide a tease, January is a transition and can go either way, then February/March turns the switch on. I could deal with a longer winter if we could actually get rid of the cold and rainy April into May stretches that have also become common.
  14. It's a heck of a trend to say the least. Almost expected at this point.
  15. You could always take a loan out on a used car for a smaller amount too if building credit is the goal. That's what I typically do, never bought new. As for brand, I love Ford. The Ecoboost is good from what I hear, but I've only had the 5.0 V8.
  16. I've seen better, but not a bad squall. I was more surprised by the several bouts of wind blown snow we had, despite getting maybe .50" or so.
  17. Yeah yesterday was a lot "snowier" than I thought it would be, but not much out of it. Next week looks to moderate.
  18. @rgwp96 any idea what we got? Been a very cold/windy evening with a couple squalls. I think it's about .50" maybe.
  19. Yeah not a place I'd want to be under any circumstances.
  20. Gotta be either Sierra Nevada or Cascades. Need a heck of a moisture feed for that. Way more than we get in an entire season over a three day period, insane.
  21. Flagstaff has a very interesting climate and beautiful scenery. For that matter, I'm a fan of the western U.S. in general. My dilemma would be choosing what "landscape" to live near. I like Montana and being in foothills of the Rockies, yet at the same time the high elevation parts of Arizona and New Mexico are intriguing too.
  22. Pretty bad icing for us in Morris County. Hopefully the last of the season.
  23. Lol, yeah I agree. I'm just one of those technical people that likes it perfect. Just like the misconception that the solstice means that sunset is the earliest of the year.
