  1. My temp just dropped 3 clicks in like 15 minutes to 18…and it’s snowing really solid atm!
  2. Word! Enjoy! This baby is gonna have some nice wrap around backside too
  3. Rates on the rise here-it’s really starting to crank. A crisp 21 here just 7 miles north of Boone…Meat Camp/Todd.
  4. Yes, had some thundersnow on the front side and it has been lying around all the way up to this event. Locals claim…”it’s been waiting around for more!”
  5. 21, and some light snow falling…just N of Boone…in Meat Camp/Todd. I wish I could hear Frank Deal talk about this and bust a corny little joke-he loved the mountains
  6. This backside deal looks more and more impressive! Just not super excited for the winds when this rolls out…they’re gonna be brutal here imby! Steady light snow atm, here in Meat Camp, E side of Elk Knob at 3664’…21 and gonna surprise the fam this morning with some cheesy sausage balls.
  7. All the albino squirrels cashing in on some stealth mode time-lol! Enjoy down there!
  8. 21, and some light snow falling…just N of Boone…in Meat Camp/Todd. I wish I could hear Frank Deal talk about this and bust a corny little joke-he loved the mountains

  10. Came through BE today and it was packed…had a job up on Beech. Backside roads near Buckeye area (Old Beech) were in poor condition already. Eerily quiet here just North of Boone, 24 and it’s a coming…
  11. 27, light dusting mostly on elevated surfaces, nothing falling at the moment. 3664’ elevation, 7 miles North of Boone…Meat Camp/Todd.
  12. Same issue for Wataga county, I was told that some members of the DOT were out sick
  13. Maybe around the northern Burke, Jonas Ridge/Gorge areas looks like the majority as snow, but south of that, the elevation drops rapidly, so I’m not sure. IMO, I’d say mostly snow and some IP/ZR, with more concern with icing for the Piedmont and Charlotte areas. Hard to imagine over an inch of ice around those areas-especially given the fact they haven’t had a significant ice storm in a while, so there’s plenty of low hanging fruit to snap.
  14. Looks like the lp shifted north on the one? Or am I just tired?
  15. Same, looks like pretty much and all snow deal up here. But not the same deal for down the hill along the I-85/US-64 corridor from like Charlotte, East to Apex area…thinking they may have a significant IP/ZR event.
  16. Think the NW High Country still gonna be pleased with an excellent event. And that backside dealio will be a nice little thump. I’m just a tick North from ya’ here on East side of Elk Knob and not looking forward to the winds when this rolls out. The low temps combined with the possibility of another event Wed/Thurs.-I’d say no school for the kiddos probably for the whole week. But hey no complaints, let’s all enjoy an active winter!
  17. The backside is gonna be a nice little thump especially for our mountain folks, but not looking forward to the winds that will follow this one.
  18. Sweet memories! https://projects.ncsu.edu/atmos_collaboration/nwsfo/storage/cases/20021204/
  19. Good idea! Will be interesting to watch the fauna tomorrow as this approaches. Gonna load the feeders. Looks like a good one ladies and gentlemen for most of us here. Helluva ride! Hopeful it’s not a terrible IP/ZR event for our upstate Palmetto friends and/or Piedmont tho’…we were living there for the December 02’ Miller B deal-with children and no power for 8 days…fun times indeed! By day two, the kids busted out the spears, pig parts and a random conch shell!
