    I’m annoyed with the O’s. They overachieved last year and unless they start making some deals, I don’t see how they’ll finish with a better record. So, I’m betting the Ravens.

    @MN Transplant or anyone else that knows… Showing my ignorance again, but I’m walking the C & O canal out near Williamsport and passed a flood stage marker. It never occurred to me that I don’t know this, but what is zero? Is flood stage measured by the depth of the river? For example, in 1936 the water reached a flood stage of 48 feet. That was the depth of the river? Or is that 48 feet above the normal height?

    Still light snow in Davis. There wasn’t enough snow for xc skiing so we did a nice hike this morning in the wildlife refuge. Warming up now by the fire at @jonjon’s place, Stumptown Ales. Still great beers.

    I make a 1:1 brown sugar and cinnamon simple syrup that I use with Evan Williams bottled in bond to make a killer winter old fashioned. Couple of dabs of both orange and aromatic bitters and Italian cherries. By the way, the simple sugar mix is 1 water to 1 brown sugar, and simmer with 3 cinnamon sticks for about 20 minutes. When storing, keep the cinnamon in the mix.

    Just arrived in Canaan. Light snow and about an inch on the ground. The hot tub is going to have a drunk man in it for HH.
