    Still light snow in Davis. There wasn’t enough snow for xc skiing so we did a nice hike this morning in the wildlife refuge. Warming up now by the fire at @jonjon’s place, Stumptown Ales. Still great beers.

    I make a 1:1 brown sugar and cinnamon simple syrup that I use with Evan Williams bottled in bond to make a killer winter old fashioned. Couple of dabs of both orange and aromatic bitters and Italian cherries. By the way, the simple sugar mix is 1 water to 1 brown sugar, and simmer with 3 cinnamon sticks for about 20 minutes. When storing, keep the cinnamon in the mix.

    Just arrived in Canaan. Light snow and about an inch on the ground. The hot tub is going to have a drunk man in it for HH.

    It can't be anything but backloaded after this month. Imo, March snow is weird because of the length of the day. In these parts, March 15 day length is like late September.

    I cooked on the grill in the backyard last night and forgot to put the cover back on the grill. When I woke up and looked out back, I was confused to see the cover 20 feet across the yard because I didn’t think it had gotten windy. Then this guy came out from the bushes. I’m assuming he had something to do with it.

    I was 40 points down going into my fantasy championship with only Higgins left to play. My opponent had no one left to play. I think it's only fair that we share the championship.

    Our latest sunrise of the year is the first week of November, but this first week of January is really close. The problem for me is that it’s such a long stretch from late October to late January before we start to see any improvement. Of course, if the time change law gets enacted, then sunrise is 8:30. eta: Gorgeous sunrise today though!
