  1. A decent crowd of leaf watchers out in the Northern Whites today. Some minor traffic in and out of Gorham. Mostly Massholes with some CT and RI mixed in. Huge backup to get on the dreaded Mt. Washington Auto Road. Bunch of crazies, if you ask me. LOL They missed peak color. Last weekend was way better than this weekend.
  2. The culvert the county just dug in the road leading to my driveway to prevent washouts has had standing water in it for days now. I am happy to see that again. Normally there is a ton of water around here and flooded basements are a much bigger concern than dry wells.
  3. A lawn is only “expensive” if you force it to become that way... A well, on the other hand...
  4. I think most of the country would vote to shut just the Pats down. Just being honest...
  5. As much as they can, people should be preparing to hunker down until the spring. The fall and winter are going to be very ugly on a number of fronts. If I lived in a basement apartment in any major city or owned a business that requires physical interaction with customers in that city, I'd be nervous right now. The death blow is probably coming between COVID and unrest. Call me crazy, but there is a reason I bought a house deep in the mountains...
  6. .30” on the nose as the precip pulls out. We will see if any of that line in VT gets here. Solid rainy day here.
  7. Closing in on a quarter inch here. Much better to have these long soaks than the torrential downpour stuff.
  8. 0.13 through this first batch. Light rain continues.
  9. Super obscure reference, bro. But I like it.
  10. 46 degrees. 0.08" of rain so far. Been consistently showery all morning, just not coming down all that hard.
  11. Amazing fall day today. Mid to upper 60s and very low humidity. Light breezes. Doesn’t get better than that. I love the weather up here.
  12. Yep, I can see that. Hope the snow starts soon.
  13. This Epstein dude must really have some epic meltdowns during the winter when he can’t obsessively tend his garden to take the edge off.
  14. Suddenly rather dull here. Reminds me of “peak” in Baltimore area to be honest...
  15. Although I see he didn't record any rain after 0930. We had several large showers come through after that. No way they all missed his location. Se it seems his numbers are not totally complete.
  16. The Randolph CoCoRaHS observer recorded 2.10" for the storm. I recorded 3.10" in my PWS. I'm going to assume his readings are more correct, because I can't see there being a full inch difference in rainfall between our two locations.
  17. Old cartoons told me you wash your big ol' hound dog with tomato juice in a large steel tub when he is skunked. I don't believe these modern recipes will work.
  18. I saw 4 in a row earlier. Gideon/Collins/Gideon/Collins They just flowed one into the next, as if they were synchronized by the two campaigns. People in Maine must be so done with it
  19. So I guess my "local" TV market is Portland, ME. Holy crap these Collins/Gideon ads are endless. One after the other. Must be a super tight race.
  20. Picked up another quarter inch today in showers.
  21. Or the penultimate scene is him bursting into the chief’s office, throwing down his badge, and saying “Next time, call somebody else... me, I have some unfinished business with a special someone.” The chief can only shake his head and mutter, “But you always were the best, Jer...” Final image is a freeze frame of Jerry piloting a boat near Miami towards the sunset with a blonde in a bikini at his side. Soundtrack by Danny Elfman.
  22. You banged the right drum on this one. Drought may not be totally over in some areas, but a dent has been put in it with more rain on the horizon.
