  1. I am associating it with the global elite, who for sure are not attached to one party or the other. At that level the labeling between Democrat vs Republican melts away. That's just a fake distinction to keep us lowly types occupied and distracted. The elite are all about themselves and they are in perfect agreement on maintaining the status quo.
  2. Epstein was connected to all sorts of powerful figures and he literally had a jet called the "Lolita Express" that flew to a private child rape island everyone knew about for decades... but Time magazine said this is all a conspiracy theory by Trump people, so case closed I guess.
  3. Blanket labeling of any questioning as a "conspiracy theory" and discrediting those who question the status quo as "crazy" is an ancient propaganda technique used by authoritarian figures, just FYI... A few years ago, it was a "conspiracy theory" to believe that the government could force businesses to close and people to wear masks and stay indoors over a virus that is survivable by 99.7% of the population.
  4. Yeah, that stuff is clearly nuts. But I don't think it's nuts to say Hollywood and part of the elite establishment has an issue with pedophilia and child abuse/trafficking. I mean, we all know they do. It's been exposed. Epstein, Corey Feldman, Kevin Spacey, Prince Andrew... I don't think they drink blood, but some of them definitely traffic in little kids and it is covered up. That's no conspiracy theory, despite what Time or The Atlantic might say...
  5. Eh, if the conspiracy theory is directed at powerful media and political figures, I’m not going to just take their word for it that all is well/nothing to see here.
  6. That's what I mean when I say they snapped. I agree societal bonds have been in decline for a long time now, it's just that COVID and the social movement upheavals have pushed some people who were barely maintaining that veneer of basic human decency and rationality already to the breaking point.
  7. It's been a lot for people to process over the past several months, and certainly some people I know have clearly snapped to some extent. I think part of the issue is that some people did literally nothing but watch 24/7 cable news when quarantined, and it's like they are emerging from a brainwashing chamber from a sci-fi movie. The things they earnestly believe now are crazy.
  8. Larry Cosgrove hasn't been accurate since the early 2000s, dude.
  9. There are many people across the country who are barely holding it together right now. The month of November is going to be absolutely wild. I don't want to be anywhere near a major city at that time.
  10. I plan to post a lot of pics this year for you guys.
  11. I believe these guys also had a similar study that said protests are not a significant vector of spread. They have been taking fire on Twitter over perceived bias between the two studies. Usual stuff these days. LOL
  12. I just refuse to buy the (clearly politically slanted) notion that a biker rally is somehow fundamentally a much stronger vector for COVID spread than a packed rally/protest or the schools (especially colleges). I haven't looked closely at the study in question, but, scientifically speaking, it doesn't seem possible to be able to draw these kinds of conclusions this quickly given where most states are with their data.
  13. Given how bad the US is at contract tracing, color me skeptical at the veracity of this study.
  14. The people who will have access to the limited supplies of the vaccine for the first six months aren't the usual customers at ski resorts or employees, I'm afraid. I am under the impression the vaccine will not be available to everyone on-demand until this time next year, most likely. Hopefully in time to save school year 2021-2022.
  15. I can't wait. Glad summer seems to be dead.
  16. It's like that everywhere. In the MA forum, I used to torment the posters from central and northern VA because when they turn to sleet it means I am getting hammered with snow.
  17. Randolph received 15" from that March 2011 storm. I'd take it. Sorry ORH.
  18. For a long time I have advocated for a peacetime draft of 18-20 year olds where we make them spend summers cleaning up cities, building infrastructure, etc. A lot of nations have mandatory military service still even though they never fight wars. It helps build national spirit and togetherness. It also helps the kids learn work ethic and some skills.
  19. I understand the rationale for reading the pages. I don't understand the rationale for taking gossip you read in those places personally.
  20. If the older folks can work at Home Depot, as many of them have been doing since March, I don't see why they can't be just as safe at a polling place. This in-person voting concern seems like a repeat of the beach concerns from the spring. It's basically an urban legend of sorts that has become fact in people's minds for various reasons, but with little real science or logic to back it up. People just "know" in-person voting couldn't possibly be safe just like they "knew" a bunch of people sunbathing was sure to be a super-spreading event. They have these thoughts while standing in line for tacos or sitting in a restaurant or perhaps while packed together at a political rally/protest...
  21. I agree it's not glamourous. It's terrible work. But when you start in a trade you always get the shit assignments (sometimes literally as a plumber).
  22. Depends on the crew. I will say that we have had much better luck overall with the Hispanic crews. We have one we use in DE that shows up in 2-3 big conversion vans (like the A-Team) with 15+ guys (and some young kids sometimes) and knocks out every job in 2-3 days and then departs. Love those guys. They are messy, though. Never clean up properly. These guys are not available in Coos County, NH...
  23. LOL those are some good ones. One of my best was when we were having an addition put on the house in MD. It was framed and under roof but not enclosed yet. My wife poked her head in to look around one morning and found one of the "helpers" passed out drunk and high on the floor. He was the cousin of the lead guy on the job too. It's always a f*cking "cousin" with these guys...
  24. I have toyed with trying it. I have the capital to stand up the business end of it and get these guys working and sending invoices properly. I just am not sure I want to deal with the drama I know sometimes comes with these guys, and especially the "helpers" who are often one step above drugged-out homeless transients. I would need someone who knows construction to be the GM and control the zoo.
