    From near 12-20" on the NAM and Euro to barely 3" for me in Northern Warren County on the GFS. Lol.

    I'll get nervous if the SE trend continues, as that Euro depiction seems similar to to 1/23/2016 in terms of snowfall distribution.

    This makes me wonder if there have been any notable cases of a great Atlantic overcoming an unfavorable (or even terrible) Pacific, leading to great period, month or even winter. I'd be curious to know from anyone more knowledgeable.

    I suppose we can hope for a well-timed storm at some point from January through March, a la 2/22/08. Surely that's not completely out of the realm of possibility? I may just be grasping at straws.

    I actually saw snow even down here in Warren County on May 15, 2016.

    It's been especially poor to your west here in Warren County, considering the one decent event in early December was slightly too far east for this area. Allentown has a whopping 5.3", which currently stands as the worst winter of all time there.

    I have about 10" for the year lol. This easily has the potential to be the worst winter of my lifetime here, and the worst since 88-89.

    I remember reading about that storm in February 1958. It was a very cold storm with significant snow to Eastern Long Island, yet the highest accumulations were actually in the Poconos, where many areas had 30-40" in a strip of very heavy snowfall. Interesting that the best dynamics were so far inland. Those same areas were hit just a month later during the KU on March 20 that year as well. The winter was beyond historic for the Poconos, just absurd.

    I was 7 years old during the winter of 2000-01, and have a vague recollection of blizzard conditions during a certain storm. It was either 12/30/00, or 2/5/01. The former had a very sharp cutoff just to my west.

    Interestingly enough, most winters of the 1880s were actually over 30" in NYC. There were probably several smaller snowfalls throughout the decade.

    One of the great 20th century winters that I wish I was alive for. NJ's record peak snow depth of 52" was actually set at the Canistear Reservoir coop after the February storm. They also picked up 56" in just three weeks during that brutal stretch from mid January to early February, and nearly 105" for the season overall according to xmacis2. Pretty remarkable even by 2010s standards.
