I just hate the fact that the one storm that wasn’t too far south or east for this area was an inland runner (January 16-17). Still plenty of time for things to turn around though.
Some past storms being referenced (particularly March 1994) still had a decent amount of snow not far north and west of the city. At this point I would assume it’s still too early to consider possible analogs?
I was under a death band the afternoon of the 2016 blizzard that gave an area from Allentown, PA to NNJ 6-8" in about 2 hours. Was it really only 1" per hour there at the height of the storm?
I’m not sure but xmacis2 is a website that has snowfall totals (seasons and individual storms) for both first order stations and coop stations going back to the 1800s.
This was one of my favorite lower end warning events of recent years. It was just a wall of snow approaching the region. That morning it was pretty obvious it would be a positive bust.
