in those conditions, a million things can go wrong for buffalo. get the lead, see what the fuck happens, and figure most worst case it ends up tied at 23 heading to OT. That was just perplexing as fuck.
Really nice looking rose-breasted grosbeak at one of my feeders this AM in the rain. I am guessing he was stopping by on his way south. Anyone else recently (or not so recently) into birding that uses the Merlin Bird ID app? It is excellent.
Gave in and turned the heat on. Was hoping to get a few more weeks in, but down to 61 in the house and days of cold rain ahead means its go time for burning oil.
Worst part was I just came off a 10 day trial and was supposed to start another one on Tuesday. One of the jurors at the end of tje 10-day trial in Frederick tested positive and that was the juror I was sitting closest to - so not surprising to finally get it after all this time. Other than tired and some fever not been bad - I am double vaxxed and double boosted which I am grateful for.
as for the lantern flies, not “bad” yet per se but noticing them arriving with more and more regularity around my deck area (the killing ground) which means they are probably up the tree line in numbers.
eta - agreed on weather mappy. Was a relief to sit out Monday and Tuesday and just enjoy the temps and sun.
