  1. The 6z GFS & 0z Euro are starting to agree on the general idea for late this week. Both have a weak lead wave that brings some rain & snow on Thanksgiving. Then a stronger wave right behind it brings heavier precip mostly in the form of snow. The low then jumps to the coast Friday am as it heads northeast. The GFS overall has a more minor system that brings a stripe of Advisory snow to mainly southeast PA. The Euro brings Warning level snow to most of CTP, with Advisory amounts in the LSV. Either way at this point, it appears that a system is likely over the Thanksgiving period, but impacts still need resolved.
  2. 0z GFS has a moderate wave bringing snow Thanksgiving night to eastern PA.
  3. McCain looked really good again tonight. This guy can play & should only get better.
  4. It will be interesting to see how this resolves itself over the next few days.
  5. Event still ongoing as the low looks to be getting ready to jump to the coast.
  6. A compromise solution would be a good thing, especially for southeast PA.
  7. Exactly, especially with the 12z Euro & 12z Canadian bringing the goods.
  8. The 6z Euro ends at day 6, so its tough to say where it would have ended up. We don’t need much to go right to make this work for many of us.
  9. The 0z Canadian for Thanksgiving was the best if you want Turkey day snow.
  10. The Thanksgiving chance showed a growing consensus with the 0z & 6z model runs. The 6z GFS & 0z Euro have the low tracking under us, but are only cold enough to bring snow to mainly northern PA as depicted on these runs.
  11. Should just be a matter of time. Check out the radar, plenty of precip is dropping down from the north.
  12. Last year wasn’t a dumpster fire to me. 5 plowable storms that gave my yard 25 inches for the season. MDT only had 18, but easily should crossed 20 if that death band didn’t rob the turnpike corridor with that last February event.
  13. Special Weather Statement National Weather Service State College PA 741 PM EST Thu Nov 21 2024 PAZ026>028-035-036-050-056-057-059-063>066-221430- Huntingdon-Mifflin-Juniata-Fulton-Franklin-Snyder-Perry-Dauphin- Lebanon-Cumberland-Adams-York-Lancaster- 741 PM EST Thu Nov 21 2024 ...SLIPPERY TRAVEL POSSIBLE EARLY FRIDAY FOR THE MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK AND SCHOOL... A several hour period of wet snow is likely early Friday as surface low pressure strengthens off the New Jersey Coast and upper level low pressure with cooling temperatures aloft moves east across Pennsylvania. Snow accumulations will be light and generally less than one inch. However, with forecast low temperatures between 30 and 34 degrees, some untreated roads and bridges could develop a light coating of slush creating slick travel conditions. Plan for the possibility of variable travel conditions and allow a little extra time for travel, especially if your route takes you over some of the ridge tops. I am fired up for first flakes tomorrow!
  14. The main pivot to the south west isn’t supposed to take place until tomorrow am as currently modeled.
