    You know the deal…they’re just hoping for exciting weather…nothing more. Cat 3 up here is a once in 2 lifetimes storm. Last one was 1938, hasn’t been one since. I wouldn’t be too worried.

    Ya it rained a lot here too with Henri..pretty much all day last Monday as it meandered around. This should be interesting too.

    2-3” Seems reasonable for most areas S. of the pike. That’s plenty on top of all we had. And we don’t even need that.

    Yes, exactly this. It was basically fine until the levee failures. If the levee didn’t fail in Katrina…Katrina wouldn’t be quite the legend that it is today.

    She’s ever so slowly loosing some steam…but the degradation is incredibly slow..due to the marshy swampy nature of southeast LA.

    Yes obviously. But many times degradation is much quicker and already taking place.

    Been on shore for 2.5 hrs and no degradation at all …most impressive. I know it’s a lot of marsh and swamp, but still Impressive.

    Stephanie Abrahams says it’s 267 times more powerful than a cat 1. But who knows?? She’s a legit MET, he is not a MET.

    Almost two hrs after landfall now.

    Strengthening Hurricanes at landfall are very bad news…and one of this magnitude strengthening is just the perfect storm scenario here.

    Of course…but this is gonna be SUBSTANTIALLY STRONGER which wherever that NE Quadrant comes in will just scour what towns are there…this is gonna be worse.

    This is gonna make Katrina look like little league I fear. This is a complete monstrosity…and strengthening as it’s making landfall as quite possibly the strongest ever on top of it. Holy smokes what a storm.
