Very true. And it happens 99% of the time. Models will completely lose the storm, Dampen it out to almost nothing it seems. Inherent flaw in the modeling at this time range? Who knows? But it always seems to happen. Maybe it goes to shit, but this certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen this type of blip in the midrange modeling.

Yup that’s my feeling too.

Mid range weakening /losing of the storm…happens every time like clockwork. Doesn’t mean it’ll come back to something more organized in later runs, but this almost always seems to happen in this time range. In fact you pretty much have to expect this when tracking a potential from 6 days out.

What is funny is, last Sunday after the gathering in Worcester, some of us thought the pattern looked like crap/boring/nothing going on, because it pretty much did back on Sunday, with most folks saying it’s a snooze fest for two weeks at least lol. Then all of a sudden…here comes the Euro OP on Monday at 12z, and that was the end of that. From snooze fest for two weeks, close the shades until after the first week of December, to tracking the first potential for widespread winter weather. My how that changed in very short order. This look will change too being 15 days from now. Im Not putting too much stock in that 15 day EPS prog at the moment. But that’s just me. Gonna enjoy whatever we have coming for Sunday night/Monday, and then we’ll see where we are headed after that moves through.

Lots of pieces/vorts in play…gonna take a while to figure this out. As Scott said, I’ll take a couple inches and be plenty happy. Nice there’s something to track over the holiday too.

Being that I can’t see H5, I’m wondering if the ridge out west retrograded west some, or did the trough sharpen more for this to come west/north so much more? Or a lil of both?
