  1. Only the 6Z GFS counts this winter.
  2. Good news everyone, we can all uncancel winter and get back to days and days...horrah!
  3. That's awesome dude. I was more than pleased with 14.4" from that storm considering with less than 24hrs to go many models were showing a whiff and i remember the EC ensembles were split 50/50 from basically nothing to 2 feet. I've experienced probably a dozen TSSN events since living in CT and i remember the first one was the most impressive to this date. I had CG lightning strike less than 100ft away and loud summertime convective claps. I remember being a kid then and didn't even know it was possible to get thunder and lightning during a snow storm. Id love to get 28", never seen a storm that big.
  4. I can't tell if this a joke or you're actually serious.
  5. I don't think we did one last year though, i don't remember seeing a thread on it.
  6. The grading winter thing is not my idea, ive participated and seen them over the years here on the forum. And i think it should be a subjective thing because its a personal experience to everyone and there's so many factors. Making it based on hard data and climo sites would just be boring. I mean, we arent doing it for anything much more than entertainment and to talk about it, it's something just for fun. I believe it was always based on the entire snow season for the northeast, whenever the first and last snow was, not met winter.
  7. I can't wait till we rate this winter, there's gonna be 100Fs, a few Cs and D from north country and one A. Anyone wanna venture a wild guess who the A will be from?
  8. Every winter is cold and snowy for the E coast or NE in a JB forecast. I haven't seen him forecast a below normal snowfall and a NE torch ever. I haven't been following him for more than 5 years but every year its the same story.
  9. As far as straight numbers here's the reason why 11-12/15-16 were better than this season (in interior south central CT) but not as bad as 01-02 (if it were to end with no more snow). I can't really remember 06-07 events or how much snowfall we had but i do remember there were a lot of sleet storms. 19-20 - 10.5" (3 advisory level snow events, one ice event) 15-16 - 27.5" (2 warning events, one historic blizzard 12+ and one 10+ feb event, one feb adv event and march advisory event) 11-12 - 25" (2 warning level events, one historic October and one 12" snow storm in January 01-02 - 7.0" (1 advisory level event and thats it, huge lack of cold air worse than this season and no storms to speak of except the Foxborough event) It's gonna be hard nut to crack to get something worse than 01-02 here. That's like a 1-100 year shit show.
  10. It could be. I'm pretty good at Photoshop and i didn't notice anything really weird. It's a GIF file meaning multiple still images in sequence to give the illusion of a short video. Nothing really stands out to me but It def could be shopped.
  11. That's insane. Doesn't even really look like much of a drift. 80" snow pack? wow.
  12. Remembering the blizzard of 2016. One of my favorite all time storms. Awesome radar loop.
  13. I mean if you're gonna melt, might as well go all the way.
  14. This is the worst winter since 01-02. And it may end that way. F this winter. Id take 06-07 or 11-12 any day over this shit. AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  15. Dee-Dee is a common short for Deidre or phonetically prononuced as you said Dea-Dra Mega Doo Doo may have come from a slip of the tongue from duty and the final part of her name doht, or she just stuttered and said do, and then do again. Or someone on the teleprompter royally messed up or trolled her with the the prompter. Impossible to tell. We'll never know i guess. Either way, it's hilarious DEE DEE....MEGA DOO DOO I'm sor..... Poor Dee Dee Mega Doo Doo, she died twice. RIP.
  16. Nah we close for dry roads and flurries. Wet roads is at least a two day-er.
  17. Final totals in CT for this historic KU. Thank you to everyone who submitted their totals. One for the record books as they say. Not a hard forecast. Ranges were spot on. Missed the slight saggy elevation aspect. Grade: A
  18. Could be the first winter since 01-02 for no warning event (~6"+ avg) for the southern 4 counties of CT. We'll see.
  19. Obs thread? 40 and Moderate Rain. Best. Winter. Ever.

  21. Well, why not? RIP Winter 19-20
  22. What was summer 09 like? I forget. Generally dont have a good memory about summer warmth or lack thereof. 99% of my brain is filled with all winter weather events dating back to 2000.
  23. As far as the NWS forecasts go, no. Since they are in the 1-3 range for Northern & Southern Litchfield Counties. And personally my opinion no as well. Some areas may see up to 2" in far NW CT.
