  1. Does anybody know when LWX radar will be back up?
  2. That's Fing amazing. I can't see more than 150' and they must have at least 2' at the top of Skidder Slope.
  3. Where in Purcellville are you? I'm on Harpers Ferry Road about 5 miles north of Route 9 on the west side of the east hill. I did not lose power, but I was getting slammed with wind. I have a log home with a great room that has a 24' ceiling and a wall of windows that face due west with about 2000' of pasture in front of me. I had to go back to my bedroom in the back because the creaking was freaking me out. I'm at 725'.
  4. It was even less than that for about 10 min., but that was it for the heavy stuff with that initial band. Just light stuff now.
  5. Large snowflakes and sleet mix.
  6. You are right, just seems like a lot less with no snow winters like this one and 2019. As a matter of fact, I had nothing close to climo last year in northwestern Loudoun county.
  7. Well, five years of recent winters is almost nothing so what are you forfeiting.
  8. Had thunder in Leesburg about a half hour ago.
  9. Look, I have been on this earth almost 60 years and on the old and new weather boards 15-20 years. I usually just listen. Spent 2/12 years as a Meteorology major at Lyndon State College in the late 1980's. This is a top 5 before New Year for me.
  10. I hear you, but this is pretty damn impressive for the area it covers and the wind is impressive - look at Buffalo!
  11. Totally agree, just pointing out how unusually cold this period is.
  12. We do not need snow pack tonight to see below 0. I'm already ay 4 degrees at 6:15 PM!
  13. Down to 8.2. Power has gone out 5 times, but has thankfully come back on each time. Dam dish takes 10 minutes to reset each time.
  14. Temp. down to 24 in western Loudoun and extremely windy.
  15. Came through here in western Loudon with just rain and not much wind to speak of.
  16. Emptied the rain gauge so it would not freeze. 2.65" for the event.
