  1. just to reiterate - it's looking likely that DCA will go 1,000+ days (at least) of no temp below 23F. I would imagine even most gulf coast stations have recorded a temp that low in that time frame.
  2. lol so predictable. gonna start planting some palm trees at the entrance to DCA.
  3. yeah the wind died down - and in the areas with significant UHI, that actually puts a brake on the temps dropping. Just like in NYC, if you want temps to drop, you need some CAA (usually there it was a nearly due north wind coming down the Hudson) to get the temp to drop much at night.
  4. and as expected, we are parked around 26/27 for now. A low below 20 looks unlikely.
  5. 5-10 above normal in early March is highs in the 60s.
  6. embrace the warmth - with vaccines ramping up, the warmth coming.. this might be one of the most amazing summers in our country's history. can you even imagine all the pent up demand just to do stuff with other people?
  7. DCA still hasn't gotten below 23 since 2019. It's a bona fide gulf coast climate at night.
  8. looks like we're gonna hold around 30/31 for a while. Dews still in the teens.
  9. NE wind rn is pretty damn cold tho
  10. 31/15 downtown - at least we're below freezing this time.
  11. it's not even a city really - it's just an unincorporated part of western Henrico County near Richmond. It's like Seven Corners (Ffx County) or something showing up on a map.
  12. pretty stiff NNW wind downtown, but temps have kinda bottomed out at around 28 for now.
  13. who needs a functioning Chesapeake ecosystem anyway?
  14. man it's hard to believe some of us have been on these boards for 20-25 years. I joined WWBB after the March 2001 debacle searching the internet for a gd explanation as to wtf happened.
  15. lmao that's hilarious - i never knew the origin (I joined WWBB in 2001 and by then it was already a phrase)
  16. is anyone factoring in the angle of the cold???
  17. i mean we shouldn't expect a tropical climate like DC has to get that cold I suppose
  18. yeah i mean last year we basically didn't have winter. this year at least there is some semblance of it. although it looks like DC proper will go another year where it fails to drop below 20F.
  19. meanwhile DC struggles to get below 30F.
  20. lmao south TX is going to get more snow than DC this year (and definitely going to record a colder temp).
  21. if the sidewalks downtown are getting slick i can't imagine what they are elsewhere
