  8. DCA should finally get a freeze tonight.
  9. A pleasant 61/48 on the day for DCA.
  10. 2.18" so far in Tenleytown, looks like DCA broke 2" for yesterday and is up to 2.16"
  11. definitely feel like being in the axis of heaviest precip is good vibes going forward
  12. looks like NYC has also not yet had a freeze. Could be Dec for both cities.
  13. yeah we are far enough south that the sun is warm year-round. I remember bright sunny winter days in NY where you didn't feel that warmth.
  14. Was today DCA's last 70 of the year? Perhaps. Looks like we'll finally get a freeze next week.

  16. UVA's Ryan Dunn ended someone's basketball career last night
  17. These wildfires in VA are getting bad. Another one in Afton (by I-64 and Rt 250, exit 99) that was started by a vehicle fire on 64. JFC...
  18. i was exaggerating slightly (it's probably more towards early/late winter), but in the urban core (where more than a million of us live) it's not been uncommon to have many days that fail to reach freezing at night. We've had several Januarys as of late at DCA where the avg temp has been at or above 40F. That said, let's hope we get the right confluence of events this winter to actually bring significant snow. Doesn't change the fact that a DC winter is looking more like the winters of Richmond or Raleigh from the turn of the century.
  19. just got a touch below freezing here (31.5), DCA with no freeze yet.
  20. sorry it bothers you that the regional climate is warming significantly. low 50s for highs / mid-upper 30s for lows was a pretty typical mid winter day here for the past few years. Also it's not "early" fall - meteo winter starts in like 2.5 weeks.
  21. 53/38 here. Probably what represents a typical winter day for DC now.
  22. hold up - is he saying that the snow 15 days away in the models might not actually happen????
  23. he seemed legit excited - i hope he's right.
