  1. with an avg temp of 61.8F, 2024 is DC's warmest year on record. Wow.
  2. highly unlikely it goes back to anything resembling the original name (for a variety of reasons) - but picking "Commanders" was a lasting fuck you from Snyder. DC does not have the best track record on name changes (Wizards, really?). I'm not certain they will change the name - Harris seems to be open to it, but it would definitely be something new if it happened.
  3. I think Bowser and Harris will put together a really solid plan - an entertainment district, housing, retail, etc - and it will happen. Probably by around 2030.
  4. lol this is the first time in THIRTY THREE YEARS that Washington has won 11 games. Good lord the Snyder era was horrible.
  5. might not get a lot of snow here every winter, but at this point it's almost guaranteed we'll have several periods of 60s with dewpoints near or above 60F.
  6. mid 60s - pulled out the inflatable bouncy house for the kids this morning. Guess we should take advantage of the next two days - might be a few weeks before we see 60s again.
  7. we left Richmond last night back to DC around 8 o'clock - was a breeze on 95. Hoping we get some legit snow that my girls can finally play in.
  8. DCA up to 36F with a southerly wind now.
  9. the ground is crunchy lol DCA low of 21, 18F here in the shadows of Janney Elementary School.
  10. 21/10 here near the tree line in upper NW.
  11. DCA high of 36F - first sub 40 high of the season. Mid-upper 20s right now. Teens do not seem likely downtown, but probably up here.
  12. Still 31F at DCA. 28F here in Tenleytown.
  13. DCA still hit 40F this afternoon. Tomorrow should be the first sub-40F high of the season.
  14. need big time CAA to even get much below 30F at DCA - not gonna happen. Maybe up by me (although I suspect we'll stay above 20).
  15. The temp today at DCA has fluctuated just one degree (high of 40, low of 39)
  16. gotta get above the tree line bro
  17. snowing here in the District's alpine regions
  18. #12 on the year - pretty crazy
  19. that is a level of cold that is basically impossible to imagine
  20. we were actually in Baltimore during that 1994 cold outbreak. It basically never got above zero on the drive there from VA - Staunton had a low near -20F that morning. The Inner Harbor was frozen solid lol.
