  1. Thanks painful process getting it built, but very happy with it
  2. Nice snow tonight. Not heavy but big flakes
  3. It was interesting driving around today. First time I've ever seen Littleton have more snow than Bretton Woods! Looks like they stayed pretty cold down there, with a solid 3-4 cover everywhere and even snow on roofs! Goes away quickly as you rise in elevation in neighboring Bethlehem, where it's just patches (as all elevated areas). Microclimates are so fascinating.
  4. We spent the entire night in the 50s and even 60+. Pretty amazing stuff - we are usually in the mid 40s even in the summer. It was also interesting to see today how the entire elevated area around us was in the 50s while everyone else was slipping into the 30s. As you said, elevation stood up like islands above a colder layer. Pretty fascinating.
  5. That’s a very cool setup. What do you use to make it?
  6. Wow we are getting a torrential downpour with gusty wind. Very summery
  7. Next weekend? Everybody. We have been sold out for a month so if there’s perfect timing for us, this would be it.
  8. Pretty amazing temp profile on the auto road. 50 degrees at 4000 ft, 33 at the base
  9. Well thank you (said practicing all sorts of restraint)
  10. This is pretty incredible. Looks like we pretty much stayed in the 50s all night. Doesn’t happen very often even in July! Stake is down to nothing but the snowpack survives around the house, which is also incredible. And we are still at 56.
  11. Huh? I never doubt this thing was coming or that our pack might get wiped. Also don’t care that much. We’ve had a pack for 2 months and we have another 3 months of winter to go... it’s not like we lost something we may never see again.
  12. I take the over. Forecast is 51 and we often go over those forecasts. Didn't warm up as fast as the forecast had it though, hovered around freezing till about 6 am. It was interesting when I woke up to see how much dripping was happening at 37 degrees because of the high dewpoint. Out West 37 degrees is pure powder lol
  13. 32.9 but quite icy here. I actually thought it would be warmer by now but shouldn't be much longer
  14. Probably not completely - pack is at 12" and the bottom layer has survived it's fair share of cutters, but it won't be pretty. That said, if things worked out the way the 12Z GFS has them I couldn't care less about the current snowpack - ready for snowpack-V2
  15. Some nice moderate snow falling; probably looking to say goodbye to our snowpack
  16. But let’s dream on, we are not even half way through winter up here and we’ve had snow cover for over 2 months. Happy birthday!!!
  17. Sweet! We got 0.8 from the afternoon stuff lol
  18. Glad to be in the sucker hole for that one
  19. Just updated the snow total - pretty amazing how close @J.Spin and I always seem to be; sometimes he's up by an inch, sometimes I'm up by an inch. For an area where microclimates make such a difference, I feel that the fact that we are so close in outcome while being 60 miles or so away (not sure how accurate that is) should be pretty remarkable.
  20. 1.2" in the last few hours, 3.5" since last night in the "pre-squall" stuff. We'll see what else we get! Snow stake is at 13".
  21. Sweet. Hasn't stopped snowing at all here today, let's keep it going till tonight
  22. I used to get that anxiety as well. I think part of it is related to having lived in SNE, where building a true snowpack is challenging and seeing a snowpack getting hammered by rain is heartbreaking. Up here, most of the time a week after a major cutter your snowpack is building back up, trees are covered, and you pretty much forget about it. As a skier, your point about liquid also matters - especially for those of us who love the glades. Of course, significant cutters can do a lot of damage (I fully expect our glades to close after this weekend), but that too is part of life. Even if they close, chances are they will be back open quite soon
