  1. the radar shows one, or two, areas of rotation. it's a tornado. It's the same radar, different tilt
  2. And it's already happening with small hail and lightning at Fort Collins and Loveland.
  3. High chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Then, a lot of the West has heat advisories
  4. Wednesday night, multiple models show convection sweeping through Indiana/Michigan with a strong wind at 500mb.
  5. Tornado warning west of Chanhassen NWS Office
  6. Possible two tornadoes near Hibbing (one previous tornado by Aitkin MN)
  7. Day-2 30% hail (hatched) outlook for the Twin Cities
  8. Fairbanks was warmer than my place The NWS issued a heat advisory for this, close to 80 near the Arctic Circle
  9. There's a interesting outflow boundary today in Texas. Some clear skies in the outflow, with scattered storms on the boundary.
  10. There has been a chill in the air. May anomalies at 850mb show an abnormal E-NE wind here, continuing through the Midwest. It hasn't been raining a whole lot here as of recently. No 90's and stuff
  11. This storm must have briefly had 1"-2" hail by Cheyenne and impressed storm chasers
  12. There aren't many recent storm reports going east of Dallas, as you said. It has finally gotten so late at night it is hitting a stable layer and the downdrafts aren't so bad (maybe.) Well anyway you tend to see the wind reports go away late at night with quite a few situations. Dallas KDAL airport got 1.69" in an hour. Some radar images for Dallas Dallas to Denton may have gotten 2.25" within the last 6 hours.
  13. Dallas is now in the middle of this PDS watch
  14. Huge reflectivity/velocity rotation with this storm at Rotan, Texas
  15. More than one three to four inch hail marker
  16. Right now some of the most dangerous storms are east of Lubbock and NW of Oklahoma City. I've really only heard of tornado(es) on the north side of the TX panhandle, nothing else
  17. This nearly maxes out reflectivity, tornado warning at this time
  18. This storm locally caused some damage west of Chicago and now looks like a supercell
  19. Yesterday was a significant (derecho?) severe weather day for AL/GA/SC. There were late night supercells producing wind damage in MS/AR, long after the squall line exited the area.
  20. The latest HRRR has a large heavy squall line heading towards Fort Worth tonight. I think these could be storms with a higher chance of wind damage. Parameters are going to be very high for supercells in the area where storm-relative helicity gets locally higer.
  21. An impressive supercell produced a few tornadoes from E New Mexico to the Lubbock area. Some tornadoes may have been large. It was heading toward Lubbock. I'm not sure if there was a tornado directly in the Lubbock area, but it seems likely that a tornado weakened as it came through Reese Center and towards town.
  22. two possible QLCS tornadoes near Moline, IL edit: new PDS warning extended through the Quad Cities
  23. It was in the 50's after the rainstorms hit in Fort Collins. That probably feels more like winter than summer. Clouds climbing the valley
  24. possible strong tornado in E Weld County (close to Wyoming. ) I wonder if any storm chasers went out from Fort Collins to see this
