  1. And I don't get that...aren't upgrades supposed make stuff, well...better? Lol Why do some model upgrades seem to make things worse?
  2. Forecasters really can't win...like literally there will be complaints either way, lol Been like that for years, haha For some reason some can't seem to grasp the inherent unpredictability of weather!
  3. Phew...They FINALLY did it! know he had to be wondering how much more he had to do, lol I sure would like to know why it took this long!
  4. Yeah that's no bueno (why a certain poster in the other thread seems to want that so much is beyond me...I don't get it, lol) How was 2015-16 oriented?
  5. Winter predictions will probably be...a really bad idea this year, lol
  6. Why are they being enhanced, though? (My apologies if this has been discussed at length already)
  7. Wooowee a soaking here in Balt. City/Towson. A bit of deluge actually!
  8. Yeah that thing was wack, lol Now as of now it seems like predictions are leaning more on the stronger end of things... Now I try not to ask TOO many questions in here, but I am wondering about this WPAC warm pool you all have been talking about. Are there any links to explain what it is and how it's been influencing things?
  9. Now that nino was weak and rather uncounted, right? Did that have to do with forcing as well?
  10. Whoa...looks like we've got a haze craze Hey, this might be the most exciting "weather" we've had here in years...lol
  11. First question that popped intp my brain (shocking I know)! Well 86-87 was pretty good I think that was a moderate niño. 69-70 was weak...still got to 21" though (of course that same setup may not get there today...but that's another convo of course). Interestingly, on the flip side, the winters following the wetter years were mediocre (I remember that being my gripe in 2018 where it rained practically every weekend, lol)
  12. I haven't gotten it Tok yet, but YES bro--take your time with BOTW. That world is so vast it's ridiculous. With the pace at which I play video games now, I got a solid two years out of that game--and enjoyed every minute of it! I mean BOTW may be the greatest game I've ever played. And the environment was so realistic that you think for a second you're in the real world! I'm currently playing Crash 4 (don't judge me, lol)--as soon as I finish that I'm jumping into Tok--can't wait!!
  13. I mean...there's really only one person here that's stoking this, and I really wish they'd just chill. I think that person wants it so much they're hawking the idea with heavy bias...and it's making the thread harder to read!
  14. Yes that's why I said "We that are old enough to remember"! Like ya said a while back...be thankful. I do think your generation (dang that feels weird saying that since I'm only early 30s, lol) will see something eventually. There's enough chaos in weather that, even if things are indeed getting more difficult, we could luck into something one of these years. Don't give up on it entirely
  15. Yep. I think we all need to come to terms with the reality here. And also be thankful that we old enough to remember Snowmageddon and got to witness some epic storms in our lifetimes (and to never complain when we get whatever amount of snow we can still get!)
  16. Ohh yes, I learned from a couple music professors that there were several vocal part-writing no-no"s in that movement...Literally examples of what not to do, lolol But it sounds awesome so nobody cares (oh those poor sopranos and everybody else that crosses each other)
  17. Freude, schöner Götterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium, Wir betreten feuertrunken, Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
  18. If you mean Beethoven's 9th...man I WISH I were a part of it, haha (hey maybe I'll conduct it one day) I am a pianist, so no where to play that in the mighty 9th Did not know they were having it there--hope you enjoy it!
  19. Buuuuuuuuuu (no literally that's your profile pic )
  20. So with the 18-19' event that failed to couple...was that because of the -PDO as well?
  21. Yeah the Christmas summer t-storm, turning on the A/C, and mushrooms growing in our front yard both royally SUCKED and was slightly fascinating! (one weird quirk about the super niños on record that produced: All three had very warm Christmas Days! I remember that year I was hoping it would repeat itself and that time it didn't lol) The Jan storm was a nice payoff for the warmth for me.
  22. I'm with ya on 2015-16. Ya know, given what we've dealt with since, you'd think that winter would grow in popularity. I mean uh...that was the most recent blizzard we've had, folks! I for one am even more thankful for that one now, lol Now I don't remember the chances after that blizzard, but in comparison with what we've had? A one blizzard and done would be gold! I do however understand wanting to have cold and snow throughout the winter (or at the very least throughout our prime window). But we can't afford to be picky anymore.
