  1. That's why despite that I'm still rooting for a legit niño next season...For me, getting one is gonna determine everything for years to come. If what has been our best enso state can't do it, nothing can, unfortunately. And in that case I'm gonna step back from this a bit. I mean it makes me sad it may be our future, but as I said in the other thread, gotta believe that we'll get used to it eventually.
  2. Yeah I hope not...but this would be a typical nina March result, tbh I almost expect a 2018 redux but who knows. (But hey, at least this miss wouldn't be because it's too warm for no reason, lol)
  3. Now that looks more like the typical Nina snow hole, lol
  4. Was just about to share this (but wasn't sure where to put it, lol) Well that's a slap to the cerebellum...I mean who would've thought taking AWAY an emission became a factor in warming? Lol
  5. I'm just watching to see if we can get just one dang inch and avoid the infamy of having the lowest snow total on record, smh
  6. Ah c'mon man don't let your snow optimism go out the window now
  7. Does the CFS have any actual use at all?
  8. Nobody has told me yet what the actual use is for the cfs (other than weenieism)
  9. Yes--starring to like next week for maybe, just maybe avoiding snow infamy and getting out of the decimal points/centimeters for snowfall, lol I mean it ain't gonna take much...a sloppy accumulation oughta do it *bumps head on low bar*
  10. Thought that too for a second, but then realized it was gonna be a bit more marginal, lol But still not the worst thing either!
  11. Even 1 inch takes us off the list of snow infamy...if we can't at least get that, something wrong, lol
  12. This, lol Well technically, BWI did finally reach 6" in a snowfall last year...but I know in the city itself it didn't make it that far! So technically yes, but mby no, lol But even if you count last year, that is a heck of a long time to go without a verified warning event...mby has had it particularly bad during this stretch!
  13. I'm gonna make my new cutoff DST...Nothing more annoying for tracking than waiting an hour longer than usual, lol
  14. A Miller B in a nina should be normal but this winter you'd hardly expect that, lol But March 2018 sure had one that left us with wind (in fact it was 5 years ago Thursday I believe...I posted about the wind knocking down a stop sign!)
  15. This entire winter has been "looks good at the end of the run"...lol
  16. On the scale of importance, there are just too many more important factors in life to consider before moving just for snow, imo
  17. I sometimes question the actual percentage of people where moving for snow is actually feasible! I mean how many people can uproot everything to move far away (and if things gets worse...even further away, lol). Like to leave all other life things behind for snow? I mean I love snow but there's no way I could uproot that far away, roots be darned, lol
  18. Be okay with winters like the last 7, I mean. Not like we'll have much of a choice! And nah I'm sure some of those in here purely for the science of weather will still want to track. But I think it may become more like the SE forum with maybe 3 main posters, haha
  19. Well, IF things continue like this in the coming years, I think we're gonna have to learn to be okay with this. I mean seriously--for our own mental/spiritual health! I mean yes we don't know everything about the future (only what the trend has been up to this date), but if this is coming/gonna get worse...we have to learn to be okay with it--I mean we have no choice, lol. It may not be worth getting upset about (or even giving too much thought to)...otherwise we'll be living in a dread of "terrifying" trends and such creating the illusion of some objectively bad thing coming that isn't really objectively bad. My guess is if, say, a decade from now, snow chances are where they are now or worse...we would have gotten used to that reality (by force--because literally nothing would've happened, and things could be worse by then!). We all love snow--but maybe our reality in the future is more of this, I don't know. But it may soon be time to kinda distance ourselves y'all, lol I mean unless you love tracking weather just to track weather (and to each their own), if you're tracking for snow? It may not be worth it, seriously. I mean we'll see...but I've already kinda been preparing for that reality. With you-know-what being a potential cause!
  20. But did the niño ever really couple though? Not saying that it diminishes the issue...as neutrals haven't been good either, but I'm not quite sure we can compare that to when we have a moderate or stronger niño since we haven't yet had one during this stretch.
  21. Trying to remember if that was an issue the first two years of this now (finally) fading la nina. Don't remember this being an issue last year, but I could be wrong.
